    Hi guys!

I noticed a squeaking sound coming from the rear of my Tacoma whenever I accelerate. It also starts to shake pretty bad whenever I get up to around 30 mph, stops and then starts shaking again around 70mph; as long as I'm at a steady speed it's fine.

I originally thought it could be bad universal joints, so I took it to the shop. They agreed that it was the universal joints and I also had a bad center support bearing. I went ahead and spent over $600 to get those things fixed. Whenever I picked it up, the noise seemed to have gone away.

Now, a week later, the squeaking is back and worse than ever. What it could it be? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I have a video of the squeak as well, I'm just not sure how to attach it to this thread.

sounds like a rubber squeak. Check your leaf spings around the the U shaped things where the leafs end. if you find a leaf rubbing... whack it a few times with a big hammer to get it back in line2012-Toyota-Tacoma-TRD-TX-Baja-Series-le_5b0eee930fe29fc2f92f70aaadade4a0699e8bff.jpg

U-Joints when going bad will not cause that type of squeeking, but instead will give a high pitch whining sounds when driving.
This is what a u-joint that needs to be oiled with the Zirk Fittings will sound like.
Start listening around 45 sec in.

Do you feel the shaking in your seat, or in the steering wheel? As a general rule, if the vibration is coming through the seat then the problem coming from the rear of the vehicle, from behind the transmission. If it's in the wheel it's in the front end.

Just to rule out your rear leaf springs stand on the bumper and jump up-and-down

Thanks for all the help, guys! I did some research on the leaf springs, and it turns out there was a recall on them for my Tacoma. I'm having them replaced soon and hopefully that takes care of the problem. When I jump up and down on the bumper, it squeaks pretty bad but its not the same exact sound I hear when I accelerate... but I'll have the people at Toyota look further into it. :)

Hey guys! So I got the rear leaf springs replaced and guess what... the squeak is still there. Just my luck! The squeak when I jump on the bumper is gone, however.

What do I do next? :(

    Too few to list.
Definitely sounds like a rubber squeak. Does it do it while accelerating from stop and when stopping?

I'm noticing the same vibration and squeak in my truck!
I have an 09 with about 160,000 miles so I was thinking it was the U joints but haven't gotten around to replacing them yet. This just started a couple days ago, I'm getting that sound and a pretty bad vibration mostly between 1,000 and 1,500 rpm when accelerating or going slightly uphill.

Hahaha. I don't have a wife.. and I'm about a 100 pound female and notice it all the time. :p

But I notice the squeak only when initially accelerating and it stops when I reach about 10 mph and the truck shakes pretty bad around 30 mph and then stops. The squeaking doesn't happen when stopping.
