Rear u joints or carrier bearing id bet

I wouldnt drive much if at all till its determined thats your problem (you might have grease fittings on the rear u joints on your truck try putting some grease in to see if the noise goes away). If the noise does go away, still replace all 3 u joints and carrier bearing as once that squeak starts your u joints are already done.

Inspect the drive shaft yokes and make sure you don't end up like this.

It sounds to me like a center support carrier bearing, what I would do is jack up the truck and either have a buddy look underneath when you accelerate or put your phone under taking a video.

2nd gens are notorious for throwing center support bearings especially if leveled and or lifted.

When mine went out it started with the squeak and as time went on it started to develop some play and vibrations.

Let me know if that is what it is, could be completely wrong.

There's your bad u-joint right there. It's coming apart

    I'd replace all of them

I just found that picture of google to reference the center support carrier bearing. To replace the carrier bearing it is easier to drop the driveline and then it is a good opportunity just to replace everything while you are at it IMO.

Either or it won’t hurt anything that’s for sure.

Definitely your U-joints. Just like @b_r_o stated, replace them all. Before you drop your drive shaft, check your CB for play. You can check by crawling under the truck and grabbing the drive shaft and pushing/pulling/lateral on the CB. The drive shaft should move no more than 1/8in in any direction. If it's about 1/4in of play, you might want to look at ordering and replacing it at the same time you replace the U-joints. It is directional dependent. Take note of the arrow on the body of the CB and reinstall in the same direction. There's a good video on replacing the 2nd Gen CB on this site, I don't have the link pulled up at the moment.

Edit: I wouldn't wait to replace those U-joints lest you drop your drive shaft while on the road and pole vault the back end of the truck. Are you 4x4? You can limp in 4wd for a short time but I wouldn't push it. If you get the greaseable u-joints, line up all the zerks to make lubrication easier.

Yeah... those u joints have seen WAY better days.

Pull the whole drive shaft, replace all 3 u joints and center carrier bearing. (you can undo the center U joint, replace the front shaft onto the truck and with the truck in park to undo the center nut on the yoke).

Or just take it to a diveline shop. No damage has been done yet to the driveshaft so cost will be parts (~30$ per U joint, ~70 for center carrier - spicer branded) and labor which wont be more than 2 hrs. Also by the lack of a slip joint looks like you are 2wd, replace the transmission seal on the front slip yoke while the driveshaft is out.
