Guys, Gals, just a quick tip for anyone interested. If you’re using this clear coat spray, make sure you use a respirator and eye protection!!!! I work in a chemical plant and am exposed to all kinds of shit so figured I could handle it! This stuff, however, put me on my ass! Terrible taste in the mouth with blurry vision, lightheaded, etc. This is some serious shit!

Does look real nice on a repainted fender flare! Sorry no pics but wanted to give a shout to anyone using this or thinking about using it!

    Stay safe all!

Yep, wear proper ppe for this stuff!

Perfect for small jobs and learning how to spray without proper gear. This was my first time painting and now i want to invest in a proper gun setup. Spray nozzles are 10/10 and no splatter like cheap spray cans. I love these Spraymax cans but they got really expensive for my project when i couldve just bought a decent gun.

Paint matched jdm grill and front steel plate bumper. Straight out of the can there was minimal orange peel and laid super clear.

Here’s a pic of the right front fender flare that I repainted and cleared with the Spraymax 2k Clear. I used rattle can paint from Automotive Touchup.com.

Only worry I have is with how friggin shiny this is! After wet sanding, I’m hoping it’ll match up more with the weathered panels around it!!

I repainted this a few days ago and used adhesion promoter before painting. That put a heavy texture down that wouldn’t sand out and looked like shit! I redid it today without the adhesion promoter and it looks more like the other flares.

looks good but i found that smashing the clear on heavy will level out the orange peel but theres a fine line between making runs and too dry. i sprayed mine on a hot day around 100f in the garage so it cured quick

i love this stuff but i absolutely HATE automotive touchup brand cans. their nozzles are so bad and i do not recommend their paint match cans. youre better off investing in a cheap hf gun for a cheap spray setup

My experience with Automotivetouchup was the nozzles spit after a few passes. youll need to wipe the nozzle with a rag and continue where u left off. spraying metallic was dry and inconsistent no matter how i changed it up. i pretty much have weird mottling because of that. I bought 8 cans from automotivetouchup which wasnt cheap and 6 of them had nozzle issues

I never had an issue with Automotive Touchup cans. I’ve always gotten good performance from their products.

AssQuake, have you ever used the Spraymax Clear Spot Blend spray? I have some delaminating on my fender above that newly painted flare. The area is about 6-8” in length right at the fender curve where it meets the hood. I was going to attempt to repair it myself without having to paint the whole fender and was wondering if this spray would make the blending process a little easier.

    Amazing work @TegoTaco!

I think it looks like the spot blend is a must for the clear transition.

Yes! Good reminder for everyone, @Ken08Taco. And people should note you're talking about a real respirator with an activated carbon canister, not something useless against chemical vapors like a dust mask.
