Highly recommend over the rail for extra protection

Horrible picture but you can see how minimal it is from the profile view

My Tacoma has the liner sprayed over the rails. It goes on to extend down the outside of the bed roughly a quarter inch. Sorry no photos to share right now...I’m not on WiFi.

is it rusted at all over the top of the rail? mine was a bit in one spot where the old plastic liner was rubbin' on through at the edge

I think it may be a bit. Theres currently a plastic slide in bedliner on it right now so I cant tell, but there's a couple holes in it where I can see rust forming.

I'm interested in getting my truck bed with Line X bedliner installed over the rails. How much did they charge you for that?

I’m getting my boys truck done over the rail for Christmas. Shop I talked to said it was the same price either way. $399.00 plus tax.

If anyone is wondering how a thicker application of Line-X over the rail handles a camper shell I'll be tossing my shell back on Monday or Tuesday. I asked for less of an overlap on the bedside but I expected them to ignore me and do whatever they felt like.

$350- but I’ve had a few done and know the shop well... this is Reflex liner, held up good and looks good after 2 yrs on this truck. More of a “softer” liner and has good uv protection.

Over for a completed look and extra protection; under if you’re ever considering a topper. Mine is over and my snug top leaks like a bastard.

You need a better bulb seal on the bottom of the topper then. I have bedliner on my rails and my Snugtop doesn't leak at all. Especially since Snugtop has a lip that goes "over" the outer edge of the bed rail.

I peeled off the old one and replaced it with a double bulb type seal, still leaks in the front and a few spots along each side! It came with a rubber butyl strip too; I used that along the corners.

I seriously think part of it is due to my box not being on straight after the frame replacement. The rig the topper originally came off of was dry as it gets. I finally threw in the towel..

That sucks. My 98 has a leaky topper but I think it's the window seals. Having a leaky topper is brutal to deal with.
