I'm sure this has been covered here before but can a spray in bedliner be used in the Tacoma plastic bed? It's a 2015

Waste of money if you ask me.
Spend it on other truck stuff!

Bed mat and call it good. The composite bed is really awesome with the mat in there.

Ive done it, only on the sides and back of the bed, then placed the bed mat. I only did it because the previous owner who was a painter never bothered to cover up the bed, and left paint splatter EVERYWHERE!! just use some rustoleum bed spray and you should be good. It wont look as nice as LINE-X, but you talking 500-600 dollar difference. Now you can only tell if you lift up the bed mat, not bad for a 10-15 dollar job.

I've seen pictures of Tacoma owners with their bed sprayed. I'll get my bed lineX'ed one of these days. If you do spray lineX is the best you can get. Stay away from rhino liner brand.

I think it's smart. LineX is the most durable stuff you can spray on there. It ADDS value to your truck when you go to sell, if you ever do. That's not an opinion either dealers and private buyers actually do pay more for your truck if it has LIneX. It's a permanent solution and leaves and crap can't get under it like with a bed mat for example.

Also it's got texture to it so your stuff won't slide around in the bed anymore. On a regular galvanized bed the LineX comes with a lifetime warranty not sure about the composite bed warranty though.

I say go for it. It's a wise investment and by no means a waste of money. It was my favorite "mod" on my 2011 duramax for sure

Did your duramax have a composite bed?? In a metal bed, yes, it is a wise investment. In the composite bed, it IS a waste of $$. I sure wouldn't pay more for a composite bed that's rhinolined. A bed liner is all you need to protect the bed.

Do golf clubs count as "actually use it as a truck"? Because I work the crap out of my truck bed then.

I'm thinking most of the people on this forum "actually use it as a truck" and don't have a bed liner. I personally don't care about my plastic getting scratched, that's what's going to happen if you use it.

This is stupid. You are just talking to talk. Do you have any experience with Rhino-Liner or LineX? You just said it's a waste of money with absolutely no reason to back that statement up.

To the OP, I'll say it again: If you work the heck out of your bed like I do hauling wood, mulch, gravel, etc then I'd spring for the LineX. I have the bed mat and it just doesn't cut it. It's a nice OEM mat but at the end of the day I will be spraying the bed like you asked about.

Well I'll be damned. That looks great!

I guess this is a way of bringing the bed back to life, short of replacing it.

So line-x is lifetime with no chips or cracks, or would it have to be done periodically.

I must be missing something....it's a truck for God's sakes, why would anyone care if the composite bed gets scuffed up? If you're pulling mulch or dirt out of the bed with shovel or fork wouldn't the bed liner scuff up too?

I guess I'm over the fact that my truck is a truck and not a garage queen.

I don't worry about what the liner looks like (too much) because I run a tonneau. Scrapes and such are out of sight.

Bed mat has amazing grip. More than any liner I've ever seen used. And easy to remove for wash downs of the bed when needed. Also keeps items a bit dryer underneath when the tonneau weeps around the edges in a storm.

If you do want to line it, look at www.monstaliner.com

Equal or better quality than Line-X with a bit more human friendly final texture.

Yes, LineX comes with a lifetime warranty. LineX very rarely (if ever) chips but if it does they do repair it free of charge.
