Looking to getting an spod for not only lights but as well as compressor and some other accessories. Wondering how much people are using the touch screen and who’s reverted to the switch panel? I need a 8 separate modules which they have but don’t know where I would mount 8 switches next to each other. Any suggestions?

I have a Touch Screen Spod on a suction cup ram mount, mounted in the upper left of my windshield. Its pretty good for what I need it for, there are alot of times when it takes a couple of taps for it to respond but it gets the job done. My parents have the ARB Linx in their 4runner and I would much rather have that than the spod, it comes with an actual phone dedicated for it and the screen on that is much more responsive. It also has many other features that are nice such as being able to control the psi from your air compressor (ARB Compressor) for airing up tires, Vehicle speed, inclinometer, battery voltage and may other things that would take to long to list. The one down side is that you can only wire 6 accessories to it and from my understanding it cant be mounted under the hood. Although after using both I would much rather have to route everything through the firewall to connect, and have to put two physical switches somewhere else to have a better interface and more features all in one unit. But that is just my opinion

I have the HD and love it. I went with it because it has the tactile sensation of a button and I can customize it like the touchscreen with the app and my phone. HD all the way!

Just picked up my SPOD today. Drive directly to their office to pick it up. Great staff, clean warehouse, and super knowledgeable on their product. Mary at the front desk / phones, is the bee’s knees!

Anyway, picked up the SE Touchscreen. added on the Bluetooth module, which SPOD installed and tested, so I can control things from the bed of the truck / tent / while leaning on the hood looking like a Badass!

Should have it installed this week, if I can find time. Good thing we all get an extra hour of light finally

Thanks was thinking about that as well to use arb but the set up to have all wires run to one box under my hood was what’s kinda pulling me towards the spod

This is true and ive thought about adding that module to be able to use my phone, it would make the interface much more responsive than the spod screen since its a phone. Correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure the ARB system you can take the phone off the mount and walk around your rig and do the same thing, and you dont have to add another module to it. But yes biggest advantage to the spod over the ARB is the fact you can wire everything underneath the hood.

So, FYI, the SPOD was super simple to install! Within the hour I had the mount installed, CAT5 cable through the firewall, and cables up to the battery. Need to tuck the wires behind the dash, mounting the touchscreen in that center cubby area.

Does it work with just the bluetooth module plugged in (no switches)? I have the source unit, but no harness or switches and was considering just picking up the bluetooth unit to run everything from my phone.

Good question... I would reckon so because the touchscreen has nothing to do with the Bluetooth (as far as I can tell)

Thats what I was thinking. That wouldn't be a bad way to have a low key install for non-essential accessories (camp lights, etc).

In the glove box, center console, or if you were really a boss you would build a tray/mount to place under the seat that would also move with the seat, boom.

Mounted the touchscreen in the lower center cubby. Out of the way.

Also, paired my phone with the spot Bluetooth module, works flawlessly, and can control the spot from the bed of the truck, where I sleep

Anyone running one of these on a manual? Do you relocate the clutch fluid reservoir or move the spod over to the other side?
