Speedway Blue Years Made

Heres a short article that talks a little bit about Toyota colors including Speedway Blue

I really like that Spruce Mica color Toyota came out with.
Too bad that article doesn't include the last years of the Tacoma. Blue Ribbon Metallic was a new blue color for the last couple years.

 

If I had my choice of colors besides Speedway Blue , I really like Indigo Blue alot

 

thats not indigo ink, its Nautical Blue Metallic

Thats very well put together archive , I didnt notice the variations by year though, for instance 2011 Speedway Blue was a not metallic version

 

I'm not close enough to those colors, as a multiple-Tacoma Super White owner. If Speedway Blue's varied from metallic to nonmetallic, then the site has an error and I'll bet the guy who runs it would like to know. He shows them all as nonmetallic.

 

Im just quoting the article but here it is,

"Colors stayed consistent in 2010, but changed again in 2011. Speedway Blue was no longer a metallic color, and it became an X-Runner, TRD Sport, Off-Road, and SR5-exclusive color."

So that makes 2011 Speedway Blue kind of unique I suppose, since it was prob the only variation before the discontinued it

 

After closer look, it seems that the first year of Speedway Blue, 2008 was non metallic as well

 

I always thought metallic meant it had metal flake look to it?

My 2011 is metallic.

 

That is incorrect. I have a 2008 and it's definitely a metallic paint.

 

Just got my 2008 SB peeling hood and shot roof repainted to match the remaining "good" paint. Money well spent.
