Hoping someone can help me figure this one out. Got in my Tacoma started up normally and drove fine. When I got on the highway I noticed that my speedometer wasn’t working along with the radio, blinkers, wipers, air, and cigarette lighter port. Tachometer, gas and oil gauges worked though. I parked and checked some interior fuses, nothing looked blown and then it would not start. No noise or movement in the engine bay whatsoever and no attempt to crank over. The battery is fine I cleaned the terminals, all the fuses seem fine and I replaced a few relevant ones. I checked the clutch safety switch and the reverse lamp switch, both seem fine. Any idea where I should look next? Thank you in advance!

Welcome aboard, what is the voltage checked at the battery? Kinda sounds like a failed alternator, battery discharging as you drove it.
Shedding accessories as the battery went completely dead.

I’m not sure exactly what the voltage was but the tow truck driver said it had plenty and I had attempted a jump start which didn’t change anything. All the electronics that shut off went out at the same time. Also the ebrake and abs light came on along with some other dash lights.

Sounds like an ignition switch issue.
All the things you mention are tied to the ignition switch.

    Do you have voltage meter?
    Or a test light?

I think we can figure this out fairly easy.

I do have a multimeter, an ignition switch issue would make sense.

See if the fuses in the diagram above have power with the ignition switch on.
Then wiggle the key around in the ignition switch and see if you loose power.

Also, will the truck still not start?

Okay how do I check if they have power, just check the fuses them selves? And no it will not start it doesn’t even make any attempt to crank or turn over

The fuse has a small spots on the top you can touch with the meter.
Black lead to a good ground. Red lead to the metal dot on top of the fuse.
    See arrow

This is NOT the correct fuse in the picture.
It is just a representation of where to touch the fuse to see if it has power.ON.IMG_0284.jpg

Gotcha and the multi meter should just show resistance if the fuse has power?

No. Set the meter to DC voltage.
It looks like the symbol on the far right of the picture below.

Okay I did that and gave the key a wiggle no change in any of those fuses
Though the IGN and gage fuses are reading 12.2, the tail fuse is reading 0.00 and the rest of the fuses are reading 69-72

You may want to check the AM1 Fuse (50A) in the underhood fuse box, it feeds that branch of the ignition switch.

    Is that one bolted in?
If so it should have a window to see if it’s blown. But……

    No it's a standard J-Case (Box) fuse.

Shit this might be it! AM1 is definitely blown. I’m gonna go grab a new one and I’ll give y’all an update!
    Thanks!
