Whose has had chromoly uniball upper control arms and squeak and make too much noise but changed over to spc cause of the less noise and better adjustment! I’m about to pull the trigger on spc ucas just want to make sure thatll be worth it??

The SPC control arms are great for their adjustability. The challenge you will find with them is getting a tech to want to spend the time fine tuning your angles. The SPCs allow the ability to adjust camber and caster with the UCAs in addition to the LCAs. This create and infinite number of adjustments and also makes a challenge in the sense that you adjust one angle, another goes a different direction. There is a lot of back and forth to get it right.

What sungod said... You need a good tech that will actually take the time to dial them in correctly. I’m still searching for said tech...

With wide 34s I left my SPCs at the neutral 2* caster point and got almost 4*, which is where I wanted to be with room left at my Cams for more. I wonder at what point will I need those other options?

In regards to OP, I would also get the xAxis bushings, they seem like a great design and I have been happy with this upgrade to mine so far.

There is a guy in Julington Creek at Famous Automotive that may be the guy you are looking for. I don't know his name, but I stopped by there a few weeks ago and talked to him and he said to bring my truck in on a Sunday when they are not busy and he would have time to play with it. I'm going to try this sunday if I can swing it, and I'll let you know how it goes.

SPC/LR adjustable control arms are a gimmick. They are unreliable. They have had bushing problems since their inception, and if you use your truck for anything other than street, the ball joints wear out quickly. There are much better options out there that are more reliable. JBA, Camburg, Freedom OR, Dobinsons, Dirt King, Total Chaos, Icon just to name a few.

I have totalchoas and they are loud too loud. They mostly like to make noise when I’m going slow or at a stop light. But I hate it I’m tired of it

Bushings may not have been greased correctly. Also you must lubricate the uniball. You leave it dry and it will make some noise.

SPC customer service is the worst! I unfortunately had a pair of their fist defective batch of UCA’s when they added the metal sleeves to their bushing mounts. Every bump in the road you could hear a thud and worse were over speed bumps at slow speed! I was told a replacement pair would be sent without the ball joint and I would have to switch it out myself and send the defective pair back still haven’t received the replacement pair and just brought Camburg uniballs instead. Also seen their ball joints tear and leak grease on another Tacoma with less then 1k miles after install and no off road use! I will never buy another SPC product ever!

    This.
I have about 5000miles on my spc uppers. A few offroad trips. Both ball joints have play/clunk. When inquiring to the vendor I bought them from for warranty replacement, the process is a joke. I just ended up buying a replacement pair of ball joints instead of dealing with warranty.

Good thing is I got mine from Amazon so won’t struggle with a return. I just want mine to be quieter than my total chaos uniballs. But I also don’t wanna be dealing with so much maintenance.

I think you will be OK if it's a street queen. I beat the shit out of my truck, don't slow down for anything on the street. RR tracks are fun lol

I think my accelerated wear is from offroading and the shitty road to the river launch. But come on... Less than 5000 miles and I start hearing clunks? Shitty ball joints.

I'm not giving up on them yet. I'll replace the ball joints, give them another chance.
