This is almost as important as the need for a GasHole mod!
After 5 years of owning my truck, I noticed the spare tire access hole on another truck stopped in front of me and said to myself, "Glad I don't have that showing on my truck!" Got home and looked at mine. It's really ugly for my mall crawling, highway princess for that hole to show.
Anybody find anything to fit that hole that is easy to remove?

Hole in the bumper that the rod used to lower your spare goes through.

Since you've never done this, I'd recommend doing so, lubing the mechanism while the spare has it cleared and making sure your spare is full of air. Maybe flip it over if need be so the valve is down, allowing air checks w/o dropping the spare.

If you live in salt country this should be a bi annual event; pre and post winter. The same time you are cleaning and protecting your frame.

If you've ever tried lowering the spare with the oem rod it's a royal pita... especially if you had to do it on the side of the road at night. After reading about a mod here i used a plastic tube... problem solved!

So the plastic tube acts as a guide then, if I understand correctly. Good idea!!
    Is it PVC Pipe?

I appreciate y'alls responses, although I won't be taking the advice from the anal insertion faction. I have had the spare maintained by a shop as a bad back has curtailed near future truck maintenance. Good tip, thanks.
The rectangular, stamped hole in the framework of the rear bumper, just above your state licence tag is the area I should have described better. Since gas-holes ard plastic snorkel scoops seem to be a popular, money sucking detail with many on this forum, I assume someone, perhaps the anally oriented already mentioned, has seen this as an opportunity to make something and sell the shit out of it to people on this forum.
