credit to SSO they helped exchange the bumper and i put it on yesterday.

 

Finally got a tracking number after 13 months. Glad to see the new owners are taking care of customers that were in limbo.

 

So glad to see it, I’m patiently waiting for my shipping notification.

 

So to follow up for anyone interested. I also received my bumper. Luckily I had roommates move in while I was gone who were able to get it put inside. With that said I did get the bumper installed and strength brackets welded to the frame to also. I will say came out great. One item of note I guess the new design is different than the original SSO bumpers. The cutout covers I had ordered originally wa year ago were shipped right away and do not fit the new bumpers.

 

Which reinforcement brackets did you go with?

Nice. The bronze F5's are the best looking wheels on the market. Could you imagine a @SouthernStyleOffRoad x @SCSPerformance collab bronze armor set... That would be the bomb lol. Guarantee you'd start seeing mall crawlers around the country (and my truck) with bronze bumpers. Why has no one thought of this before?

 

that might be cool! I do have a GFC on order and thought seriously about getting bronze as the panels.

 

The bronze would look awesome with color matched wheels on a white black or even red taco. Pic taken from GFC HQ during my install.

 

They do have an example their install pages of one on a white taco. It did look kinda cool

Got my SSO slimline hybrid on........mostly. I couldn't find any of thr edging that supposedly came with the bumper, nor any bolts, but the bumper itself is very nicely done.
I initially ordered a longer light bar for the front, but they only ended up having the shorter ones, so I used a piece of black heavy duty plastic as a filler around the light bar. I may replace it with a longer one to fill the gap, but for now I honestly don't think it looks that bad.

Had to do it all myself, but with the help of my floor jack, I got the bumper hung, just have to go pick up some bolts for the lower attachment points and should be GTG.

 

Looks good, used the floor jack as well.

Weird about the bolts and trim, although the bolts are probably available at the Big Box of your choice.

Did you trim the hood support to fit the winch control box or relocate it?

 

Yes sir!
I thought about utilizing the Badlands relocation kit, but after looking at a VERY helpful post on the install here, as well as the official SSO vision It, I decided chopping off the center support was infinitely easier.

In the long run I scored some high grade SS bolts, washer and locking nuts atynlocal fastener place.
I'm going to finish the install tonight and test the winch as well.

 

So, SO glad I got the winch cutouts on my SSO bumper though!

Changing the winch from engaged to free-spooling as well as adjusting the angle of the light bar is going to be so much easier with the cut outs.
