Southeast Toyota has updated their website to view some inventory for the 2016 Tacoma.

Under one of the SR5 models - they list an XP Package at a cost of $2,799.00

Those are some very nice wheels!!

They apparently sell the shit out of them and dupe tons of people. Every tacoma I see here is an XPS or whatever they're called.

 

Living in FL, all of the XP packages I've seen are on 2 wheel drive trucks, 2nd Gen anyhow, no '16's yet here.

 

At least they're not going with the crappy stick-on hood scoop like they did on the XSP-X last year.

 

It's just my $.02, but that seems like a very poor value. For about $2,600, you could add a serviceable lift ($1,000), much better 265/75/16 BFG KO2's ($800), and better wheels (Method NV's, $750). On top of that, you could sell the OEM wheels/tires and offset the cost considerably (or use that money for quality sliders).

 

or keep the better looking oem rims than the XP rims

 

The old XPs had a lot more stuff, fender flares, carbon fiber on the inside, leather with logo, stick on hood scoop, ect.

 

Quite similar to the TSS packages offered in the Gulf South. Waaaayy overpriced (paying twice for wheels and tires, give me a break)

 

I just bought a 2017 Tacoma SR 4x4 and I like the Maverick wheel package . Obviously it's cheaper to build them yourself . I need to know the correct offset . I believe it's 17x18 +25mm but I'm. Not quite understanding how the offset changes the wheel . Any help would be appreciated.

Those wheels are ugly as sin.

 

I see mostly 4Runners with the package here in Orlando. It looks decent but it is ridiculously overpriced. Damn dealers and their high mark up b.s.

 

It's cheap if you do it yourself I just need help choosing the right ofset.

 

Does the ofset make the stance wider or how does it play with the rim sizing ?

 

For sure to worth 3k !!! Dealers just throw this package on to get a bit more profit off em !

 

Offset is how much (in or out) from the centerline of the rim the mounting face of the hub is if you cut a section through the wheel. A positive (+) number indicates the wheel is basically pushed into the wheel well further, while a larger minus rating would indicate a wheel that pokes out of the wheel well further. They are all relative to the centerline of the wheel, so a wider wheel with the same offset will extend further both on the inside and outside.

I have no idea. Tire Rack lists the Maverick wheel in 0mm, 10mm and 25mm as options for the 2017 Tacoma, why not ask the question in the Wheel & Tire forum?

 

What I have read is that the best backspacing for a Tacoma is 0, but I am new to it, so best to ask someone else. 16 or 17 doesn't matter, that is the diameter of the face of the wheel, either one could have any backspacing. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoWheelOffsets.do

 

Stock TRD backspacing is +32 if I recall correctly. A 265 wide tire and 0 backspace is as close as you're going to get to flush with fenders on a 2005-2015. I assume they would be the same on the 2016+ since the truck is basically the same from everything that matters on a suspension standpoint.
