“Uhh I don’t want to deal with this today. That’s not actually a fire hydrant. Sorry”

Not a fire hydrant. Its actually a flushing hydrant. Fire hydrants have to come off a 6" water main to maintain fire flow demands. A flushing hydrant can be mounted on any size line 2" or bigger and its sole purpose is to flush water mains where water may become stagnated.

I'd call that a fire hydrant. Peeps get an insurance cut for having a hydrant in front of the house.

That's a a fire hydrant as far as the insurance companies are concerned.

Insurance companies dont specify PSI requirements on fire supression systems? As far as i know in NC at least, FSS"s cant drop below 35psi during peak fire demand including Fire Hydrants. You may not get that off of a flush hydrant on a 2" line when its pulling 1400gpm.

I honestly dont see how an Insurance Company could be satisfied in anyway without seeing flow data.

That's why you hook your tanker to the fire hydrant and pump off your engine least in a county setting... City should be fine because most city engines now are tanker pumper engines least the ones I service are mainly

No idea what you’re talking about, I just remember you saying you like that minimalistic feel on your truck and that your current roof rack just wasn’t cutting it. Too gawdy or something along those lines.

Same thing the water department said when they came to fix it. When I first moved in 15 years ago, the insurance company asked about a fire hydrant. I said it was in my front yard, because I thought it was. As far as they're concerned, it's a fire hydrant. Lol. It started leaking at the valve so I called the fire dept. They tightened it and in doing so, broke something underneath the ground. Water department came out one early evening, had to cut off water to the whole street, and spent hours and hours digging it up to fix the leak. This is what they replaced it with.
