I am installing sound deadening mats in my doors and have put the mats inside the door against the outer door material.

Meanwhile, on the inner part of the door behind the door panel covering is the plastic sheet that covers some of the components, etc.

should I keep that plastic sheet on and carry on or is there merit in removing that sheet and installing some more deadening material around those parts?

This is to soften some of the road noise and improve sound with my new speakers that I am installing.

I will also be adding deadening mats to some other parts of the cab but my question is particular to the doors at this time.

I just did this and I put pieces of Noico on the door, then put the vapor barrier back over it. Eventually I will be pulling the plastic and replacing it with a full layer of deadening material but I was running short by the time I did all of the floor and rear wall.

I'm still getting some bass vibration bit it is between the door and the door panel. If I push on the door panel around the power window armrest area it stops so will be looking to pad that a bit
