Now, have you tried to convince a father of a 13 year old kid who flipped his quad and somehow managed to stick the flag through his throat that the kid is dead? I wish no TW member ever has to do that..

No, but I have had to tell an entire extended family that the family member they were just arguing with 10 minutes prior had walked down the street to an abandoned house and shot himself...around Christmas time...

Yeah, I've never been good with words. Now I'm called heartless because I show now emotions. Can't let that stuff get to you though.

Hmmm.... I'm not EMS but I have watched the moment when a man wanted for raping his underage stepdaughter and stealing their love child slit his own throat while trying to choke that child to death just as the cops break down the door and those same cops resuscitate the child on the way to a hospital. It's a run-on sentence, but I'll be damned if it wasn't one of the most intense moments of my life. The cops saved this kid's life, but none of it was reported on tv. Funny how the public only hears about the bad stuff.

Ya'll are stronger people than me (EMS/Fire/Police/Military/etc) b/c that's not something I want or COULD do on a regular basis. Much respect.

Let's see, have worked for almost 26 years in Level III and Level IV Prisons. Have stared into the eyes of Charles Manson and have had murderers and movie stars and movie stars that have murdered working for me. Drove a 53 Mercury up on two wheels for over a hundred yards before the right front tire blew and got drunk with Agnes Moorehead, the mother from Bewitched, not my finest hour. Rolled a 68' Volkswagon beetle at over 90 miles per hour and survived my own stupidity on numerous occasions, back when I was indestructable LOL.

I went through the Army SERE school at Camp MackCall, NC. aka "Camp Slappy" LOL

I was primary jumpmaster on a C17 night combat equipment jump at Ft Bragg. That airplane is incredible! It was made for jumping. You can stand on the platform almost completely out the door of the bird with almost no wind. Doing the outside door safety check is a major rush. This is not me in the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ir59yOHCUpA

I just did SERE 100 training, took me 5 minutes on the computer? :p. LoL, I've heard about the full blown training, sounds like fun to me.

As for the C17 made for jumping...I would love to check out that plane. I just transferred to hercs and the system is almost identical. I'm guessing the C17 has an aerial deflector too, on the C130, you can open the paratroop doors and stick your head out without too much wind. Hopefull I get to kick some of you guys out soon before I make my way up to the Nav chair.

You can't hang out even half as far on a C130. It gets WINDY! In a C17 you really don't even have to hold onto the handles. You can literally stand on the platform outside the door. Try that on a C130 and you will get sucked out. :) C130s have a deflector, but the C17's body is contoured so it flares before the doors so the air is channeled away. It is very sweet. I hope you get to check it out. Personally I preferred jumpmastering on C130s, but the C17 was cool.
