Well I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a 2016 or 2017 Tacoma. Do any of you past buyers have any recommendations for a place that offers a good buying experience and has a good service department?

I've already been to Big Two Toyota/Scion in Gilbert and Autonation Toyota in Tempe and didn't like any of the people there at all. Thanks for any tips here.

I've heard mostly good things about Right Toyota, I wouldn't know from experience though! lol I'm holding onto my 2000 forever. Good luck.

I also had a pretty good experience when I bought my truck at Riverview Toyota in Mesa.

MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
Went to Big 2 for mine, but only dealt with one of the online sales guys. Good experience, would buy again.

Right Toyota is the largest Toyota dealership in az . I shopped around riverview auto nation and right. Gave right Toyota the other dealerships best offer and he undercut them.

As others have stated stay away from riverview service. Seriously the worst experience I have ever had with a dealership was their service department.

Realistically everyone here has a good and a bad story about almost every dealer in AZ. Larry Miller gave me a smokn deal on my truck only two years later to threaten to call the cops after I refused to negotiate on a new truck. I really don't care how friendly and nice they are as long as they give me the best deal. I'm not looking to make a new friend in the sales department and it's such a revolving door business. Price shop the truck online and make the dealers fight for your business from your comfy couch drinking a beer, eating nachos and playing COD. Your real question should be...I got this great new truck at a great price, where should I take it for service. That's the people who are going to have to longest personal impact on your experience.

Auto nation Toyota/Scion in Tempe is where I picked up my used truck. It was pretty uneventful and easy. They fixed an issue the truck had and they did somehow manage to overcharge me for the registration fees (I didn't know at the time but I'm not sure how that even happens) but I got a check in the mail from them covering that. But overall it was a decent experience... I was expecting worse from a dealer. Dale Ballard was the salesman I worked through, a very interesting guy.

I'll let you guys know how Avondale Toyota does tomorrow with my first warranty service on my '16. The body foam adhesion points on my hood have released in at least four places on the hood causing sheet metal flutter. Hopefully the repair is performed by someone who is not inept. They could make a real mess of my hood if they screw it up.

I bought my truck from Avondale. Emailed/inquired with all of the Toyota dealerships in Phoenix and they had the best (to me) deal. Going back in for warranty work next week (bsm has an alert and of course my truck thinks it's a 4 speed.)

I've bought 3 vehicles from Right Toyota (including 2 Tacomas) and have never had a complaint about them. I will say that I've always bought through the fleet dealer, though.

I also go there for service when I'm too lazy to do it myself. I've not had a problem with their service dept and they will take the time to walk through issues in the bay with their techs...I can't say that for other dealerships I've been to.

Is anyone on here a tech or writer at a dealership? They couldn't replicate my stupid Trans problems.

I went to Avondale for my 10k, get a key for my tail gate, bsm error, and transmission. I left with them only completing the 10k.

They couldn't get the code to cut the key.

Bsm they gave me crap about there being mud (it's fucking Arizona and it's raining, of course there is mud) and so it was customer pay. I told them it wasn't working before I drove it off the lot and the sales man told me it would get fixed next time I came, so they are taking care of it. But they had to order the parts so I have to drive another 4 hours there this weekend).

Couldn't replicate the transmission issue. I said it would just stay in fourth forever during cruise control and just kept drownning in 4th.

    Not too happy.

Is there anyone I can go to to do the rev1 Trans update?
