I bought the truck with abs light on. Thought I’d try to diagnose the problem and get it fixed. Jumped the diagnostic port under the hood. Got codes 31,32,33,34,44,51. Can’t imagine that all the wheel speed sensors are bad. Has anyone had a similar problem or any advice?
    Thanks,
    Eli

Youre good @Jeremy Martin , I doubt it really has that much with the year and transmission unless yours has a different abs system.

I would think they are identical with the exception of the transmission.

Disconnect the plug from sensor(s) and test wires with ignition on, one is hot one is ground. Sounds like a wire/ground fix.

It’s throwing codes for all 4 wheel speed sensors do I need to test each one? @Black DOG Lila

I would test one and if you have power(which I doubt because usually if the wireing harness is bad it throws a code for ALL sensors) pull a sensor and check for broken tips. Carefull of breaking the 10mm bolt holding the sensor if it is rusty use liquid wrench, PB blaster etc. first. Before pulling the sensor check for corrosion on wire connectors. Like I said earlier I would suspect wiring harness or connectors/grounds before beliveing all 4 sensors failed at once. If you choose to pull a sensor and the bolt doesnt snap gently draw the sensor straight out as they have been known to break and fall to the bottom of the mount hole.

You posted this problem on two different threads but left out the PO telling you the ABS pump was bad on this thread. Nice of the PO to disclose this expensive repair needed. Why would you doubt the pump failure?

The PO took it to a general mechanic who usually just did the brakes and other simple things. Not saying he is wrong. But I figured that the mechanic saw the abs light and just guessed it was the pump. Swung the codes by a local mechanic who’s been working on Toyotas for 40 years. He said he couldn’t remember anyone else having a similar problem. He just gave me the meanings of each of the abs codes. Which I had already looked up. Just don’t want to dish out the money get the pump rebuilt if I’m not sure its the pump
