    Hi All,
I have for sale a new, never used, and very rare Coleman Exponent Ocala 5 (5 person) true 3 season tent (model # 9803-119) with original box. Coleman’s Exponent line of products was its highest end product line and competed in the same market segment as other high end outdoor gear (i.e. MSR, REI, NorthFace, etc). While most of the Exponent line was geared towards the backpacking crowd, Coleman did create a few car/overland/family camping products in the Exponent line with the Ocala 5 being one of them. Specs for the tent are list below, but at a high level this is dome style with 2 doors+ 2 vestibules, 7001 Series aluminum color coded poles, 4 pole configuration, full rain fly with peak through window & vents, aluminum stakes, guy outs, and taped seams throughout.

    Specifications:
    • Capacity: 5 person
    • Seasons: 3 season
    • Floor Area: 94.9 sq ft
    • Vestibule Areas: (1) 26.3 sq ft, (2) 22.5 sq ft
    • Tent Floor: 190T, 70D Nylon Taffeta 1500mm PU Coated & Taped seams
    • Tent Bode: 190T Nylon Ripstop
    • Rain: Fly185T Polyester Taffeta 1500mm PU Coated & Taped seams, Vents, full-length & features two vestibules--one with a view from the window to allow natural light to filter in.
    • Both vestibule entrances have a dual zip for high and low venting
    • Color-coded 11mm 7001-T6 aluminum poles for easy assembly
    • Lightweight aluminum stake pegs
    • convenient zippered storage bag.
    • Floor area: 130 by 106 inches
    • Center height: 73.5 inches (6.13 ft)
    • Pack weight: 17.4 pounds
    • Number of rooms: 1
    • Number of doors: 2
    • Number of poles: 4
    • Retailed for over $350
Great opportunity to own an extremely capable and rare Coleman Exponent Ocala 5 tent.

Asking $200/obo plus actual shipping cost. Pick up available in the San Jose, CA area.

    PM me if interested.

Is it a thing that people collect rare camping equipment?? I mean i have seen old lanterns and such but not really tents...

@Jessee26 The one I'm selling is brand new and is the latest/newest edition released of this tent.

The one in the link is used....note the add states "gently used". Also, his was the older first generation of this tent. 1st gens only had 800mm PU coating on floor and fly vs 1500mm. Number of other differences also...thinner material, non color coded poles, etc. Look at the actual pictures of the tent, not the first "stock" picture. Note its the yellow/green color vs the gray & blue:

Here is the color of the tent body and fly of mine:

@Zac of all trades You'd be surprised man. For example a used '84 Coleman Genisis tent just recently sold on eBay for $1450:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coleman-GENESIS-Tent-5-Person-Bill-Moss-Designed-Rare-/153469549081?nma=true&si=hMNp%2FmJbBFjxxNVI2pr7sOcP1Fo%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I have a new in box '83 Coleman Odysses from the same series as the Genisis and would easily sell for well over $1K as well.

You have a nice tent and I'm sure it's well worth $200...but to be fair, that Genesis link says he was asking $1450 and it went unsold.

@Rome604 It technically sold outside of eBay (for obvious reasons) for the $1450 asking price. Tent collecting community is pretty close knit ;) I had just about talked myself into it just as he pulled the auction and informed me it sold for the asking price....less than 24 hours of posting it too

If you think the Genesis is crazy, have a look at what this vintage used two person Coleman A-frame canvas pup tent went for:
