Does anyone make a solar powered back window vent that fits in our little square and can cool the truck during the day?

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    Good luck finding one.
You can probably modify a solar panel powered fan targeted for sheds and the like that could fit.
BUT I doubt that its effectiveness would be worth the effort.
At best, it's only going to reduce the interior temperature to somewhere close to the outside temperature.
You could place the windshield & side window screens in place to help cut the solar gain, but how much air can a little fan actually pull thru your Taco?

CRack your windows to help reduce solar gain. I have rain guards so I put the windows down just below the rain frame. It helps but parking in the shade really helps lol

    Oh look, another mod....
The only thing that I have seen that slightly resembles what you want is a solar powered fan that clips to the window. It was a manual setup. Meaning you had to mount the fan to the window after you parked because you had to manually adjust the solar panel. I live in Texas and we need everything possible to help keep our vehicles cool. Here's what I do:

    1) I have the darkest tint possible. It's ceramic and blocks a lot of sun & uv-rays.

    2) I have a front window shade. This helps keep the truck even cooler and protects the dash.

    3) I leave the windows cracked, the back window cracked and sometimes, the sunroof cracked open. This provides cross ventilation. The truck still gets hot, but it gets LESS hot this way.

    4) As soon as I get in the truck to drive home, I crank up the a/c and roll DOWN the windows for a few minutes then I drive off. Doing this pushes all the hot air out of the truck faster, so the a/c can cool the truck down faster. I've tested this theory before. I kept the windows up while I blasted the a/c, and it took about 7 - 10 minutes for the truck to cool down. When I rolled down the windows and drove off (then rolled them back up again 2 mins later), the truck cooled off in 4 - 6 minutes. Sure, that isn't a long time, but when it's 107 degrees in August...every-single-second-counts.

Those who live in Texas know what I mean.

    Nothing yet....im a poor bastard.
I'd be happy with being able to roll down windows with remote while walking up to my truck. My work Silverado does it and it is nice.

ceramic film is the best solution, you can even get clear done over your windshield and fronts, if you don't want or cant have tint.

OG Custom Fab makes a panel that covers the square so there is a little perceived security when you leave the back window open

Love the look of those panels and debating on bragging one. Was reading they stick on with 3m tape. How do you clean the middle window on the outside if it need it ? I live in an area with lots of snow and lots of salt used and that back widow can get pretty covered with salt etc.

12VDC fans are probably made to a standard bolt pattern. Most are equipped with a grill on one side only. Would be great if OG Custom Fab could make this with the (4) bolt/screw holes and a grill pattern matching the fan diameter....

Good question, I usually just hit mine with the power washer at the DIY car wash I use. The panel does reduce visibility but not completely. I didn’t notice the dirt causing an issue after off roading in the desert if that helps?

l take it you don’t have shaded parking at work. I remember those days.

Why aren’t you using remote start, and therefore remote AC?

My office doesn't have covered parking. I miss the days when I had a parking garage at my office. My vehicles were always 20 degrees (or more) cooler. The remote start is shit. I park so far away from my building it won't reach. PLUS....I work in a not-so-great area. Na' mean?

Hopefully that will change. Also hoping today was the last triple digit day of the year.
