Anyone have the soft Tri-fold Tonneau cover from Toyota. Curious if anyone has had any issues. Couldn't really find anything using search.

I think Toyota only offered the plastic rigid trip fold, I could be wrong though.

Yeah, I'm pretty certain that they only have the hard trifold for OEM. I have it and like it, no problems.

In Canada Toyota offer a soft cover option as well as the hard trifold, maybe that’s what the OP is referring too.

I called my dealer and they do have a soft tri-fold for $699. Of course you can't just buy the hard tri-fold unless it was made with the truck. Most of the 3rd party hard tri-folds seem to be a pain to install and you have to take a bunch of stuff out. Was just curious to see if anyone had it. Toyota part# PK3B135G5S

I know this is 5 months old but did anyone ever get any more info/photos on the soft tri-fold from Toyota? Not even the dealership could offer more than the stock photos they had.

I have the soft tri-fold here in Canada. I've only had it on for about 9 months, but so far so good. It's straight forward to put on/take off without tools. If you only need 2/3 of the bed you can flip it up and buckle it in place. All very straight forward. One plus is that it's light and can be easily removed by one person without help.

I've taken it through some very wet/dirty offroad conditions and a car wash, and while not completely dry, it did a very good job at keeping water out. A small amount of water leaked past the seal at the edges and down the side of the bed, which I think is perfectly acceptable considering it isn't a topper. Everything in the middle of the bed (including a carboard box) remained dry.

Not sure about long-term durability, but I guess we'll see?

Anything specific people are interested in knowing?

Could you post some photos of it when you get a chance? I'm looking for:
    -An overall shot
    -Folded 1/3 and 2/3
-How it secures to the bed
    -The release mechanism
-Anything else you can think of for operation

How "soft" is it? Could it be slashed and broken into fairly easily?

Sorry for being so needy, and thanks in advance for the help!

Sure, I'll take some shots and post tomorrow night. It secures to the bed rails with "spring clips"? on either side. It definitely requires some strength to release them but really not too bad once you have done it once or twice.

It has the texture of leather maybe? Someone could easily slice it open, so if that is a serious concern I'd look for something else. I only keep my winter EDC kit in the bed, but I would be pretty pissed if it got sliced/damaged. My dad has had a soft tonneau for years and no issues, but obviously area dependant, ymmv.

Amazon has a bunch of tonneau covers 20% for Prime Day.
The Extang Trifecta 2.0 is a great cover for $320.

So I think it can only be fully closed or 1/3. I didn't see a way to secure it with 2/3 closed.

Third pic is the mounting brackets in the rail. There is a piece of threaded rod that goes through these brackets to secure it in place. Couldn't get a good photo due to lack of light.

The last two pics are the spring clips that hold it in place by the tailgate. You just pull them down and pop them into the rail. All pretty straight forward.

That soft fold looks exactly like the one I bought on Amazon for $200. Soft tri fold...
Same bars going across and everything... those are $699?
