Probably a dumb question but has anyone ever put their truck with the soft top through an automated car wash? Got the bestop topper 2 and was at the dealership getting my oil change and they offered the car wash but they came back and said it can damage the topper if it goes through the automatic wash. Never really thought about that since i always use my power washer and hand wash but that made me think how durable is the soft top if it goes through an auto wash, i know it’s probably not good on the clear rear window panel

I would say no ... I don’t even take my truck threw those without my soft topper . Brushes can scratch your paint . The force of water and air is not good for one with out it I hand wash mine and use regular water pressure .

I figured that, just curious if anyone was brave enough to put one through, i use to take my old truck through Mr. wash when i had a membership but it had 140k miles on it and wasn’t too concerned about the paint

Ive been washing mine in the auto wash for about a year now, no issues. But I use the touchless washes anyways.

The Softopper instructions say that it is okay as long as it is brushless / touchless. Someone suggested asking them to shut off the brushes. I tried that once, and they laughed at me.

Considering how quick you can take it off, that is the better route.
