I just picked up a snug top with a rotary latch that will not fully lock. Looking to see if anyone else had this issue and if it’s fixable or if I’m going to have to replace it. Seems like it latches but on one side it’ll pop back open slightly.

You may have to "bend" the catch back on the side that isn't latching in order for it to catch the latch armature. I had the same trouble with my XTR shell.

    All the wrong shit
Mine did the same thing after 10 years so I sprayed all the working/ moving parts with some tri-flow spray and it fixed it. Also like above post check the latch on the sides to make sure the bracket on the shell didn’t get bent back away from latch on glass.

Thanks for the replies. When I got a closer look, it appears the catch bracket is just fine. The mechanism, on the window, does not appear to want to stay latched unless I put pressure on the part which the control arm coming off of the control lever attaches to. I can snap it out of the locked position by using my finger (when the glass is open) on that side, but if I try the same on the other side, the latch remains locked and does not budge.
Looking at the the mechanism, I don’t see any odd wear so I’m stumped.

wish I had an answer on that. Maybe there's something you can adjust at the crank side of that latch arm or it's loose on that end?

A few mods here and there and counting....
I have the same issue or rather an annoyance. The previous owner whom i purchased the used snug top from inserted the key, turn all the way to unlock with the latch disengaged. Turn the key back to lock. Remove key, return latch to lock position and depress the latch and it engages. If i don't do this sequence, the latch would not lock.

I got it figured out. The little control rods, connecting the lever to the locks, were adjusted wrong. Little tweaking and now she latches. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
