Snow Tires

Hi all, I'm in need for information on the best snow tires for my new ride. I live at 8000 ft in the northern sierras and we get a lot of snow. I drive up and down the mountain quite often. Any suggestions?

 

These worked well for me in light snow.

I like that they are pre-pinned for installation of metal studs.

I am quite happy with my choice.

 

General Grabber ATX's are studdable and have the 3 peak rating, all else if you get that much snow might as well have a separate set of blizzaks

The Arctic LT is best winter tire I’ve ever run on a pickup truck, hands down. Insane tread depth and traction, and very durable on gravel roads. 2/32 deeper tread than a brand new K02.

Got dang you may have just sold me on these. I was gonna get blizzaks because they were great on my Subaru but I was worried about destroying them out hunting.

These tires do not chip out on gravel, or get plugged up with small stones, which was my reason for choosing them above the other popular choices. I’ve run the others and they tend to get destroyed on gravel roads. The Grabber Arctic LT do not. The fact that they performed extremely well in the snow and ice sealed the deal for me.

Your lucky if you find any tire that last very long on gravel. I work at a Rock Quarry. We replace Loader tires @ $35,000 a piece, twice a year.
