So I am looking to put a snorkel on my 2013 Tacoma and the only one that seems to pop up is the ARB one which sticks out really far and I have heard people complain that it gets caught in brush. I really like the look of the UpTop Overland one that is coming out but I haven't heard any news about it and I have only seen it on 3rd Gen Tacomas. I debated doing a McNeil front end swap but that is a lot of money to dedicate to use a certain snorkel and would probably not be compatible with my 2nd gen Relentless Fab Predator bumper which I love.

I have some friends with some fab skills that I have gone back and forth with designing one but we all work a lot so meeting up and papering something out, then fabing it is just getting pushed back and might not happen so I have been shopping around and it looks like the Aussies have been making some slick set ups but of course I usually don't see them for Tacomas since they have Hiluxs which brings me to this set up.

    https://www.tjmusa.com/snorkels/air...snorkel-toyota-4runner-2010-011sat0186z.html#

The TJM Airtec Snorkel is meant for a 2010 4Runner and the body lines look very similar. I know a 3rd gen 4Runner is probably a close match for my 2nd Gen Tacoma but the 3rd gen 4Runners that are pre 2015 has pretty similar body lines.

    So my questions are:

Has anyone on here tried this?

Has anyone played with a 2010 4Runner to compare airbox locations? I plan on changing out the an AFE Magnum Force intake as well.

I am emailing TJM as well to see if maybe someone has reached out to them about this in the past and will share my results so if anyone else is looking into this they can have some answers.

Also look into the land cruiser retrofit snorkel on here it's still and ARB and it's narrower.

It's not a perfect fit but it's close enough no one but you will know.

The Dobinson seems to be similar to the ARB set up in the sense that the snorkel comes off the body of the car where I believe a lot of people are experiencing the snagging. I see that some people turn the snorkel around that seems to make sense but I love how the TJM one hugs the body. Not sure if you checked them out through that link but I love how stream line it is. I am also concerned that turning it around may cause some breathing problems. Right now my 4.0 is NA but I do want to eventually supercharge it.

MESO is getting out of the Tacoma game isn't he? I mean some very interesting cool high quality stuff he's made and put out there, but last I had heard or saw he was selling off his twin turbos and all the fun stuff and going back to stock or something?

That is a super streamline snorkel. Looks good... something tells me it may be expensive lol

That's a slick looking snorkel, I like the looks of it. Seems like TJM really focused on the cosmetics only though; It doesn't leave the ability/option to install a pre-cleaner as far as I can tell. If operating in truly dusty/sandy conditions, that'd be a concern.

Form over function for me. Then again, I'm not in it for the likes on Instagram or FB either. :notsure:

Careful you're dangerously close to a ban with word like that. Round here might be okay but you can't say things like that in the 3rd gen section.

They are $500 so a little bit cheaper than the ARB depending on where you get it. There is a company called Alpha Wheel that makes a carbon fiber one but one it is expensive and two they only make it only for the 3rd gen. Not going to spend $900 on it and have to do some modifications to it to make it possibly work. Plus Carbon Fiber is super not fun to work with.

Pretty sure the bed of my truck still smells like trout, from the last time I went fishing (cooler tipped over on the drive home). Haven't washed the truck in over a year either. Those offenses alone gets me banned from the 3rd gen section I think.

I agree in the sense of functionality over looks. It is something to note that a pre-cleaner is not able to be added but living in Georgia I am more likely to run into low hanging trees than super dusty conditions. It can get dusty out here but I don't think that will be the issue. My issue is with pollen. It gets wild over here in the spring.

@cruiseroutfit Cruiser Outfitters here in Utah sells a hilux kit with all the extra fixins and a custom template for 2nd gen tacos. I didn't like the bulkiness of the dedicated Tacoma offerings either, and have been very pleased with how it came out.

Looks like someone on here by 2k4Taco put them on his 3rd gen Tacoma. Maybe it will fit a little better on a 2nd Gen?

It’s a cheap adhesive led strip that comes in a roll. Has both white and amber leds.
Above the step I only have the amber connected to my park light circuit. But along the frame, I have another that I only have the white leds connected to my door entry circuit that illuminates puddles and the step through the holes in the running board, you can see the white in the third picture. I stumbled across it when looking for a 48” tailgate light bar with amber turns.
