Have the opportunity to buy a 25 plus year old snap on rolling tool chest that was my brother in laws . 33 inches wide with base and upper , all drawers . Attached side cabinet single door .

Any wild ass guesses what the value should be for just the tool box , have only glanced at the tools so they would be tough to value yet .Resized_20230318_091047.jpg

I should elaborate on this , he has passed away so none of us know what the cost was , true age or whether he had this one as his everyday mechanic box . It was his home tool box as long as I have known him .

Probably somewhere in the 2k range, respectfully of course. Sorry to hear about the circumstance. Buy it, take care of it and use it for another 25 years.

After doing some digging in my old SNAPON catalogs, the Upper box seems to be a KR-537D (Late 80's vintage) and the lower box being a KR-557D (Early 80's vintage). No idea on the side box but would guess of the same time frame which puts that combo close to 40 years old. Found some old EBAY auctions for these combos that were all in the $1500 - $2500 range. I hope this helps.

Sorry to hear of the circumstances, but that is one nice tool chest. You should go for it.

On the back of ea box / cabinet on the top right will be a tag with the model #

That Snap on 7 drawer roll away tool box is a KRA 4107 and the exact same as mine I purchased in 2000 off the Snap on truck , I paid $2700 for it

I've seen that same roll away ( used ) going for $800

Your tool boxes and cabinet look like early 2000 production date

Being a family matter my wife has suggested $2000 as we will be dealing with her sister . Just trying to make sure we are not screwing her over and start a rift .

Find the part #'s as I mentioned for the cabinet and the 12 drawer tool box and I can give you an idea on value

That set looks to be in very good condition. Give it a thorough clean, touch up what looks like a little rust on the bottom of the side cabinet, lube the slides and maybe a coat of wax. It'll last another 20 years easily. I'd pay $800 -1500. If it's full of Snap On tools, $2000 - 3000 depending what's inside, perhaps more. Since it's family, maybe offer more than she wants. If she or you are not sure of the value, post up some pics of the contents. PS: As US Marine said, there may be tags on the back of each box with model #'s and dates. More likely the numbers were stamped into the box before painting and they'll be harder to see/find.

Not all of them but enough to give a general idea , and I think the 40 year age estimate could be close given the dates on the snap on girly mugs .
Will have the back box photos in a few hours . These are pics my wife had taken earlier when they were trying to decide what to do with it .

Yes both boxes are from 1987

And as @wmb67 mentioned clean the tool boxes up to make them look more appealing , would wipe the boxes down with windex to clean the dirt and grease then wax to get it shine

I would sell it with the tools since it's full of snap on tools and those tools a valuable

I would say package deal , tools and both boxes plus the cabinet $3k to $3500

Those pics of the drawers with the Snap on combo wrenches and sockets , Those were probably a $800 purchase back in 1987

Well we made an offer of 2500 that was accepted with the agreement that we split half of anything that gets sold . Some of the tools will go to my son in law like the gear puller .
