Smittybilt gen2 tent

Who here has ordered the new gen2 overlander smittybilt and has received it. I ordered mine 2 months ago and still have yet to receive it. Every time I call to check on delivery date it gets pushed out a week or two. I ordered the tent for a trip I have at the beginning of September and I’m afraid I’m not gonna receive it in time. Has anyone heard anything on deliveries?

 

I ordered mine the first week of August and was told I’d have it at the end of the month. I called 4WP on Monday and they said they arrived in California so it should be at the store here in Salt Lake sometime between the first and third week of September. Not great but I knew I was going to wait so I’m not stressing about it.

 

I ordered mine from 4WP and picked it up same day.

It is amazing.

 

Yeah last I heard they have a small number of tents coming in that aren’t even gonna come close to fulfilling the orders. I ended up canceling my order and ordered the hardshell and got it the next morning

 

Update cancelled order and went with the hardshell tent got it next day

 

We just received our gen2 Smittybilt. Looks promising *however* the plates that are supposed to run under our bars are too short for the width of a tracrac. Which I think of as a common enough rack that this is a surprise. Is there something I’m missing? I’m planning to go to Lowe’s and get something to fashion a replacement as it is just flat stock with holes for bolts, but I’m wary of missing an important detail which is just “too close to my nose” to see.

Hmmmmm. I’m open to any guidance! Even if it starts with “hey dummy why didn’t you think of...”

 

I don’t think your missing anything there just not very long my rack has tabs welded on thy the tent bolts directly to.
