No heist, but I travel a lot and the question in my mind is this: if your key fob got lost or stolen out of town, how would you open the Tacoma door let alone activate the ignition? In the good old days you could always hide a key somewhere clever and retrieve it in an emergency. That option is dead now with "smart" key systems. What would really be smart is having the ability to activate door locks and ignition via mobile phone, in addition to key fob. But that's moot.

You could put your extra fob in battery save mode and hide it, or even take it a step further and remove the battery from the extra fob and hide it somewhere in the truck putting the battery in the glovebox, taking the mechanical key and hiding it as you would an old school key. That way you could still get in the truck then get your extra fob and put the battery in it and you are good to go.
