Does anyone know of a cheap or free way to pop out some small dents? They haven't damaged the paint, and they are on the hood close to the windshield sprayers. I can't reach the area underneath to pop them up. Has anyone tried anything that works? These are small dents that aren't hugely noticeable, but they are noticeable to me and it bugs me! See photo.

I would try a good PDR tech. They can do wonders with dents.

@Holeshot Forgive the newbie question, but what's PDR?

Might want to try using a hair dryer and a can of compressed air, I've done this on a couple of vehicles with good results but might take a couple of passes to get the dent out. Gently heat the metal up with the hair dryer and then with the can of compressed air upside down just spray it on the heated metal. The contents of the can of compressed air are fluorocarbons which create a cooling effect when evaporated. Basically what you are doing is heating the metal to expand it and then cooling it down very quickly which causes the metal to shrink and pop the dent out. Here are some YouTube videos as a reference.

I should have spelled it out because it took me a little while to sort it out first time I saw the initials.

Used one during a visit to California one time and was amazed at what the guy did. He used fluorescent light on suction cups to better see the panel being worked on. Pulled the tail light and used a long rod with a short "L" tip on it and applied pressure from the inside of the panel while tapping the outside with a small hammer. When he was done you could not tell there had ever been a dent there.....even sighting along the panel illuminated by the fluorescent light. I was very impressed and pleased.

@Holeshot thanks for the heads up. I will definitely look into that. I am trying to go a cheap way first to see if that fixes it, if not I will check out the PDR.

+1 on taking to a good PDR guy. I recently had two small dents repaired on my roof above the windshield. I can't tell they were ever there. It's pretty impressive what these guys can do. Pics aren't great but you get the idea. Cost $250 btw.

PDR!! A good one is worth their weight in gold. The guy I use is a magician. Beautiful work. Reasonably priced...especially if he gets to know you after a few trips. Research good ones in your area, the home remedies can work but they're not easy and its easy to do more harm than good on these paper thin body panels that everything uses now.

Unfortunately, for the OP,his dents are through the body line on the hood, which a PDR tech has to "recreate". Totally fixable though. And Sugar Silva you got took. $250 for 2 dents? I would've fixed those for $80 and been done in 1/2hr.

I didn't pay a dime. Long story short, Local Safelite Auto Glass replaced my windshield. When they did so, the tech leaned on my roof causing the dents. They told me to get estimates so I did. First two PDR guys I called said they wouldn't touch the roof because they had to drop the headliner, too much risk etc. so I went to a higher end body shop and they quoted $250. Safelite paid them.
Anyway, back on track. OP, I would recommend getting a couple estimates from local PDR guys but in the end I would go with whoever has the best reviews/does the best work.

Won't work on that dent due to the crease in the body line.

I've had this work on body line creases but was on a front fender with a much larger dent than OP. Just offering a cheap solution on how to fix a dent. For three bucks for a can of compressed air is worth a shot.

The compressed air upside down.... Never had any luck with that. PDR and $50, you'll probably be good as new. Dealers have these guys come on their lot, check with your dealer, mine did a door dent for $35.
