Hey, I’m new so excuse me if this has been answered, although I did do a cursory search.

I recently bought a ‘17 Tacoma crew cab with the short bed, and am looking for a toolbox that’s not gonna take up too much room in the depth of the bed.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a toolbox that is relatively slim? The shortest one I could find is 20 inches. Just wondering if anyone knows of or has any suggestion for a toolbox that won’t take up so much room in the bed? Thanks

I was looking for one as well for my DBLB. UWS & Weatherguard seem to popular choices. I have opted (I think) to get a shallow tray instead like the one from Rago Fabrication and then toss a tote-able box or two on top and underneath.

I bought a slim shallow tool box by Craftsman at Lowes. It is handy for my kit.

You could put ammo cans on the wheel wells, saves the bed floor space, but cant put very long tools in them.

I didn't want to loose fore and aft space. So I installed a couple of swing cases. Working well.

    this and that...
uws. the top is very discreet. has a nice amount of storage and also doesnt sit on the floor so technically you could utilize the space under the box. i dont use mines for tools. its more of access storage thats weatherproof and secure.
