Looking for suggestions on a slim powered subwoofer I can put in the back of my 17 doublecab sport. I don’t mind removing the back storage panels but don’t want to take out the Child Safety Restraint hooks. Looking to add some thump, not cruise the mall and set off car alarms! If you have pics, post them, or even links to the ones you purchased. Thanks!

From my research, the OEM AUDIO systems or the crutchfield custom box with JL Audio Sub

I second this, seen these installed pretty clean. Looking to get a set myself

I did a Kicker hideaway and have been very happy with it.

I sold my running boards to a local man with a Limited, and couldn’t believe how precise and clean his audio sounded compared to mine. I MUST fix mine now. Subscribing for details.

Get whichever JL fits your budget and space. Even the ported 8" micro sub will smoke the OEM audio setup. Speaking from experience and from a VERY critical standpoint. The flat woofer/amp combos from the other companies are also amateur compared to the JL micro and Power Wedge+ series.

Honestly I would get the 10" power wedge 'truck wedge' and a 250/1 or 500/1 amp with a remote bass knob and be done with it...

    Buy once, cry once...

So far that JL Audio Power Wedge seems legit, the pioneer set up sounds interesting too. Not a fan of the kicker powered sub as I have heard a few bad reviews on it.

********* enclosures are awesome but man they are not exactly cheap! How much do you think you paid in total set up?

    $210 for the sub
    $200 for the box
$430 for the 5 Channel Amp

As mentioned a few posts up, the powered JL 10" sealed box is a banger. Tight punchy when you want it or window rattling if you need it. For about $800 installed, with remote gain in the console, I couldn't be much happier.

    Following.

Also, why the hell are the stealthbox’s so expensive compared to the powered wedge series of subs. I don’t get it. I know they are fiberglass vs MDF...but what else? Huge price difference and no amp!

The research and design to get the digital fit aspects setup. Same reason the folks at "Bath Fitter" want $6k+ for a drop in liner in your bathtub.
