Anyone have info on using Brophy tie downs for securing a slide in camper on a gen 3 taco? They appear to need at least a 2 inch over hang to work but the camper manufacturer swears they will work.

I was trying to avoid the frame mount idea thinking they would be shin busters. Any idea how much they protrude outside the bed walls? I do like the fast guns though, that may be the clincher to go with frame mounts.

They do not protrude when the camper is off.

They slide out like an insert hitch when you're not using them so shouldn't hit them. When they're in I never hit them but they don't stick out that far.

So if they are retracted I could still run the truck through the car wash tunnel?

The insert piece is well inside the outside line of the truck by 3-5 inches. Watch a video of how they work and you'll see what I mean.

BADAZZ! I'm sold on that setup for sure. that beats having to rig brophy's to be removable. What did you use for load management. I went with the firestone bags but I am hesitant on the compressor system I ordered. I was going to go with the ARB sytem but I ended up buying this...

I used Ride Rites and just ran the air lines so they came out together by the rear license plate, then I just used a bike pump to pump them up. Simple and cheap but it worked and I never had an issue in 12 years and two Tundras. I also put the TRD sway bar on and that made a big difference as well but that camper was 1300 pds unloaded.

Ha! I just cancelled the compressor all together after realizing that I have several options already for portable air. Ill use that dough for the Torklift system. Thank You!

NP you'll be happy with this setup, really easy setup once you have everything adjusted after the 1st time.
