Im in the process of gathering my items for my 2010 DC Non-JBL Audio upgrade. I have a Kenwood HU with Maestro RR on the way that is Sirius ready and of course my truck has the Shark Fin antenna on the cab. I've never used or tried satellite radio and it looks like all I would need is the Sirius Tuner module which is less than $40 to install behind the radio

In you guys experience, is this worth trying? Do you get a variety of channels or is it limited? From what i have read, most people are able to get several months free from specials and that seems to repeat quite often.

    TIA

I would say that anymore the internet subscription and streaming to your radio is the most versatile and probably better sounding way to go.

I’m saying this as someone who has had hard wired SiriusXM since years before they became the same company.

One big reason is that you can take your internet subscription wherever your phone goes and you have cellular, vs. needing a subscription per device should you want to use it in more than one car.

Get spotify or applemusic and actually have control over your music. Ive had Sirius for 10 years and rarely used it. Just cancelled my sub recently. GL

Thanks guys, I figured if all I needed was the $40 tuner module and if i can get the subscription free for 6months at a time it may not be a bad bet. I just wasnt sure if i needed additional items to install it and how the service or music was.

Ive read the music quality is very low on there which if thats the case, i guess it would defeat the purpose

If you are constantly in no-cell-service areas on long road trips, they can be nice.
I have a Dealer line in my truck that hasn’t expired yet and I might use it 2-3 times a year. The stations I like are good if you don’t expect to listen to them every day. The music gets very repetitive. I stick to my phone services unless we are on a long trip and just want to change the music up a bit. I wouldn’t pay any dollar amount for it though. If it was $10/year, I’m not signing up lol

That was my thought, if its free, then i would invest in the Tuner module but not for a monthly fee since i could probably stream pandora or anything else from my phone.

I enjoy SiriusXM. But they're a dreadful company to deal with. Renewing is like chewing your own balls off

Yeah if you do actually sign up for even a free trial, I would use a new and totally separate credit/debit card specifically from XM. If they have your card info, it takes an act of Congress to get them to quit billing you. So when you’re done, just close the card and eventually they’ll get the hint

Did a 5000-mile road trip two years back. Had Sirrus, which was good on the long road trip. After two weeks it got repetitive. My son had a bunch of podcasts on his phone, I enjoyed those. Darknet Diaries was a favorite, as medical mysteries (can not recall the title, but baffling medical cases). Haven't signed up since.
