I need to re-install my Sirius in my new Tacoma. I was wondering what the best location for the attenna was. I have seen a few on the roof above the windshield, but didn't know if there was anyone who had a better location. Looks like dash removal is fairly simple for an FM modulator - any specifics?

I have mine on my dash but im really starting to rethink that decision. I constantly lose signal. its starting to really piss me off. I think im going to put it on the roof somehow. BTW, dont get an FM Modulator. Get it hardwired (USA SPEC, etc.)

On the roof or outside somewhere seems to be the best location. I have one on the roof of my 4Runner near the back so its well hidden. Just didn't know if anyone installed in anyplace outside besides over the windsheild. I thought about direct connnection, but I actually have a FM modulator in the 4Runner as well, and it sounds great. Easy install too (although have the dash had to come apart). Is the direct connect applicable with the stock radio? I just have the standard CD player head unit with 6 speakers

I actually installed the modulator yesterday - very easy to do. Got everything set up. But the attenna is on the roof. Does your plan include how you got your attena out in bed? Sweet location, but I couldn't figure out how you got the wire through the cab and into the bed. Is there a grommet somehwere?

yes, I wil take some pics.....I just got back from vacation so I will upload some pics in the next day or two

there is a rubber grommet under the carpet of the pass side front seat....if you remove the plastic door jam and lift up the carpet you can get your hand in there and feel the rubber....remove it and look under your truck and you will see where...I zip-tied the wire to the frame back to the bed then ran it up the back of the bed...there is a small gap between the top plastic and the rail, run it there.
