Single Cab 'Third' Gen - This is pretty cool

This truck was built with only oem parts. The whole front end (fenders hood and hood scoop, headlights w/ LED, bumper, grill etc) and the entire bed (tailgate, back up camera etc) are 2018. The cab is the stock 2009 however, the doors were fabricated. The front half is 2018 and the back half is 2009. This how the entire body blends perfectly and it looks like a factory 3rd gen Tacoma. I paid Almost $1,000 for each door only to chop them up to get the front part. The color is a brand new option offered on the 2020 Tacoma called Army green. Only ppg products were sprayed on. 2018 Side mirrors with functional LED blinkers. Hood graphics are from the 2020 trd pro model.

It's made its round on here before in a few different posts. Cool concept though. Would be cool to see a factory option like this.

 

This thing has been up for sale for months. 15k for a salvage title 4banger plus 145k miles? Even if it was gold plated it probably still wouldn't be worth it

Looks pretty good imho! I don’t agree on the price but who knows how much time and money was lost to do all of this mods. At least we all know that is possible,kudos for him!!

 

You'd also be supporting his new born child, if that makes you warm and fuzzy.

 

For the record, 10/10 would never buy, but I do appreciate the work that went into it.

$15,500 2wd /4 banger, didn't see that before I posted above. Does look nice but lack of 4wd is going to hurt the sale.

 

I’d be in, but wouldn’t want a 2nd Gen interior in my 3G taco. That’s like moving into a swank modern loft, and then filling it with all the trashed furniture from your college dorm.

All that work for a 4banger?

Its a cool concept that would be really interesting if it were a factory option with the V6 and MT6 4x4.

 

It probably just snowballed on him. I found an old Santa Cruz Chameleon frame that looked new for $150 and next thing I knew I'd dropped over a thousand to complete it. If I would've just bought a used one in good condition I'd have saved some cash.

 

Well when youre starting with a salvaged title thats a 4banger, youre making that choice from the getgo rather as a decision resulting from the project snowballing.
