Looking on some advice on the difference between the Deaver Single AAL and the 3 leaf AAL. Got my mind made up on the Bilstein 5100's and the OME 887s for my '17. I don't really haul a lot, but don't want there to be a problem if I decide to haul something in the future. Also don't really do much off-roading, so that isn't an issue. The truck is my daily driver, so I'm looking for something with a halfway decent on-road ride quality.

Rear height wise I'm looking for about 2 inches.

Already talked to Marie at HeadStrong, just looking for others advice. Also I've read other threads, but haven't really found what I'm looking for. Thanks.

I would go with a 3 leaf over a single leaf. It essentially spreads the load of the additional lift out over 3 thinner leafs vs just one thicker leaf. Makes for a much smoother ride. I've had both types on my current truck and would recommend the 3 leaf any day. If you need more load capacity or 1/2" more lift, you can use it with the stock overload leaf as well.

Look @ Icon 3 leaf AAL - Raises rear approx. 1 1/2 -2 " I left out the factory overload but you can go either way , comes with the longer U bolts - I usually have about 250-300lbs. in the bed including the Camper shell- No change in height & rides smooth.

I have the with Bilstein 5100's and wish I just went with Dakar leafs. I have a Leer cap, roof top tent, awning, sleeping platform in the bed, and camping supplies. My truck always has bro lean and I hate it. I had wanted to "level" the truck and now it's reversed. Note I also have Bilstein 5100 and OME 885 in the front. Also note that it doesn't seem you have anywhere near as much weight in the back so I would think the 3-leaf AAL would be ok for your situation.

Are you using your stock overload leaf with them as well?

No, I didn't even know that was possible.

Yeah you just bolt it up with the rest of the pack so the 3 leafs are in between the overload and the rest of the stock pack. It will give you 1/2" more lift in the rear and higher load carrying capacity than just AAL set alone.

You'll probably need a longer leaf pack center bolt to do this depending on how much you cut the one you used when installing your AAL

That's good to know. But I think I need more than 1/2" to get anywhere near level. The downside of the Dakars is that I think I would need to replace the 5100's too, so my suspension upgrade is getting really expensive (should have done it right the first time).

I did (HS 3-leaf) and ended up with a 2.5-3" lift in the rear.

That's interesting. I think even without everything in the back, I was still negative in the back. Though I don't have the factory overload leaf installed. I guess I could try adding the factory overleaf to see what happens. If it works, great. If not, then I know I'll need to find a different solution.

I never tried with the factory overload out.

If you end up putting OL leaf back in, report back with your results. Could be some info for those looking for similar use with that set up

Hey Jonathan, I think if you put the overload back in that will help. One of the other guys I was talkin to on here he has a cap on the back and kept the overload in. His truck looks good. Hope this helps. Don

Thanks Don. I still have them, but they are in the basement. I'm pretty sure the AAL install directions said to remove them, so I did. And I cut the u-bolts down so they didn't stick out so much. Now I may need new u-bolts to do that job. But I can put this on my list of things to do when I have time.
