This isn't earth shattering but a small crack in a mud flap can be easily repaired. I know a lot of folks remove them but for those who still have them and have a crack or two they can be salvaged. Using a pencil type soldering tool you can fuse the cracked pieces together. Do both sides for added strength. It will leave a "scar" on the mudflap but that looks a lot better than a crack.

180k and a ton of hard wheeling trips and I run 34s....same mudflaps as the day I bought it. Fight me.

You been lucky dude. Backing up in the woods and hit a good size limb or rock it will snatch that sucker right off and jack up your finder. This happened on my first 92 yota so now its the first thing I do when I buy a new one.

I will say I did something similar on Imogene Pass near the summit. Backed up and pulled out the rear left. Threw it in the bed and put it right back on later that night. I guess my pop rivets were weaker than the fender because it didn't damage anything.

I run 34's and I had to do a LOT of trimming, ditch my splash gaurds and cut my fenders.

Either you're wheeling soft or I'm wheeling wrong.

Mud flaps though were gone day one though because they kill milage and appearances.

I wheel plenty hard. I've done just about every major trail in the Ouray/Silverton/Telluride area (including Black Bear Pass) so you very well might be wheeling wrong....either that or we simply have different size tires. :D
Mine are 34/10.5/17 which is about as big as you can go without trimming. The 10.5" width is the real winner here. The skinny width means the diagonal measurement of the tire is way less so at mid lock your tires just BARELY skim the mud flap if your caster settings are on point. You don't even need to do a CMC.
