Ok TacomaWorld - haven't been able to figure this one out...

My side marker light on my driver side is out. Tried the bulb, works fine in passenger side spot. Tried swapping the socket that it sits in to the passenger side and that worked fine.

Swapped the passenger side over to the driver side and that one doesn't work!

Next step swap out the harness that the socket sits in - ok swap it with some doorman harnesses that wire right in. Harness and socket fit nicely, however the side marker STILL doesn't work.

Am I missing something here? Is there a fuse that could be blown somewhere that I just cannot find??

All other lights work fine, no other wiring or electrical issues that I am aware of!

    Thanks for your help!

A few mods here and there and counting....
Check the tension connector where it houses the bulb. It may be loose. Check the harness connector to see if theres any debris or dirt stuck in there.

Have you tried using a multimeter to see if that side gets power?

Not yet. Not sure I have one anywhere. Been trying to find mine with no luck.

Am sort of convinced that's the case, how else would both sockets and bulbs work in the passenger side, right?

Best bet is using the multi meter I would assume, unless there is a fuse...but not sure how there would only be one light on it...

You need a meter and trace it back.

Just checked fuses again and they are all good. Multimeter no where to be found. Will try and troubleshoot tomorrow at work, pretty sure I have a meter there

Suppose there is no power - where does that send me?

Test from each connector one at a time back to the fuse box. If you have no power at the last connector but you do at the fuse box, then there is a break in the line between those 2 points.

You really need to start with determining if you lost power or lost ground. The easiest way would be with a test light. If you just lost ground, that's a simple matter of connecting the white/black wire to ground under a bolt somewhere. If you lost power, and you can't find the break without splitting open a bunch of wiring harnesses, I would just run a new wire from the right side to the left. You can see in the schematic I provided, both light power wires end up in the same place.
