Installed these new chase/area lights on the Tacoma yesterday. They function really well. I just don’t know about the look. Maybe it needs to grow on me a bit. Everyone below send some pics of your rear light setup !

What brand and such did you go with? Link perhaps?

Did you wire them to a separate switch, or into your reverse lights, or maybe both?

I'm running Feniex Cannon hide-aways in place of my reverse bulbs. Works as white when in reverse, or amber strobe if I flip a switch. I was too lazy to wire in the third trigger wire to run as amber chase or white scene light. I guess that was my real problem. Deciding what to do with my last trigger...

They are only switch operated. Not linked to the revers lights. I already have a reverse strip above my license plate and I figured if these were wired in it would just be way to much light backing up. I didn’t get super expensive ones just in case they didn’t fit right or I didn’t like the look of them

Look good to me. I have some nilight stuff on my UTV from YEARS ago. The color has faded, but they work like the day I bought them. And being on the rear, they'll take way less abuse than up front.

BD Chase bar while pulling support duty for the local offroad race org. Admittedly, I wish it was brighter in the mid-day sun, but any other time, it does well.

    Yeah.
I don't remember what brand these were, but they fit the holes in the aftermarket bumper perfectly and were under $40. I had the wiring from an old fog light kit with a relay, so I used that and added a Zombie Lights dash switch in an empty spot for a clean install. Sorry, no pics with them in use, but they are aimed slightly down. For me, it was more to fill the holes in the bumper than for any specific use.

EDIT: These are the lights, seemed solid and are still in good shape. Switch was a Nilight switch. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TYSP7KV?ie=UTF8

No picture of it, but I have amber strobe lights installed in my front and rear lights. One of the settings in the controller is "steady burn", so I can turn my reverse lights to solid amber at the push of a button.

Same, but when you are in harsh sunlight on a white sand/salt bed, everything gets so washed out.

that looks good ! I was going for the same look with the lights while maintaining the stock bumper. Haven’t found an aftermarket bumper I’ve fell in love with yet

same here. I’ve been running nilight LEDs for probably 10 years on my jeeps and Tacoma. They’ve all taken a beating on the trails and have sat outside in 120 degree weather and have yet to fail.

I use this wiring harness which allows the lights to be controlled with a remote instead of a switch and has several strobe/flash options built in
