What notch on the bilstein 6112s did you go with? and what offset are your wheels?
Installed basically the same setup as your with my bilstein 6112s on the 6/5 setting. Looking for wheels with the right offset to fit the 285s.

I'm curious about the discussion around 285's rubbing. According to the TW tire comparison, there is negligible difference between 75/r16 & 70/r17.

Currently running stock TRD 16'' wheel, adding Bilstein 6112/5160's & OME Dakar. Wondering whether the headache is worth the gains w/a 285, vs just running a 265/75r16

285/70/17 on ProComp 7069 wheels. No CMC but it looks like it will rub if flexed a little bit. Stock UCAs, low caster so it wanders a bit on the highway. I think I can live with the drifting and save $500+

It depends on your selection of tire, rim and alignment. Different tire manufacturers 285's are actually different sizes. Some are a bit wider in width, some are a bit taller in height, some both. It will also depends on the backspacing and offset of your rim and finally how your caster is aligned. I just swapped out the stock TRD OR rims and tires for a set of SCS 16x8" rims with -12mm offset and 265/75/16 Duratracs. I have rubbing at full hard lock in forward and reverse and approaching incline. I could easily fix it with a heat gun or trimming, but it's really not that noticeable the majority of the time and I'm having my lift put on on the 11th, which I'm sure will eliminate it once I go up 2.25" in height.

I was in the same dilemma as you and not knowing whether I would have to do a CMC for $350 or $650-$1200 for a new set of UCA's or both on top of trimming or massaging the fender wells, I decided the return on investment wasn't there for me for one extra inch in wheel and clearance height.

You can use this to compare and play around with tire size, rim offset, etc., as well as compare different tires in whichever size you're looking for:

What did you do about rubbing in the front? Looks like you trimmed a little, trying to decide how to do mine without chopping the whole corner off like I’ve seen a lot of people do.

Just put on yesterday. Small bit of rubbing at the rear of the front tire. Alignment tomorrow will hopefully fix it. Got the SPC UCA's. From what I've seen here on TW, the caster adjustment will get rid of that problem.

Make sure and ask if your alignment shop can adjust those.

Thanks for the heads up. I've called about a dozen shops in San Diego and none seem familiar with the SPCs. Most say "we'll figure it out..." So I found one with the most off road focus and will cross my fingers. From the 3-4 hours of reading TW forums, I'm going to set the LCAs to max forward caster and have the shop only adjust with the spc UBJ. This seems to be the best bet.

Any San Diego people on this thread?? Shop reccomendations?
    Thanks.
