Nothing at the top, some at the bottom. I can see the tires in the rear-view mirror, which looks cool, but nothing drastic.

Anybody notice much gas mileage difference between the 285/70/17 and the 265/65/17? I currently have the 285’s which came on the truck but was considering going down to the 265 if it’ll help my gas mileage since I’ll be driving further for work soon?
    thanks!

    A few.
Its at least 2mpg difference. More if the 285s are e load 10 ply or mud terrains

Remember, you need to add 1mpg for every 14mi traveled because of the tire size difference unless the speedo has been adjusted for tire size. I'm running nitto terra grappler G2's in 285/70/17. They're a light SL tire that weighs 44.53lbs. I'm currently averaging a little over 21mpg. I've lost around 1/2mpg compared to the 265/70/16's when I was stock. It's an MT with 4.30 gears so the tire size difference didn't really affect it's performance as much as it does with the auto's. IMG_20220523_201818405.jpg

running bf Goodrich Baja champion all terrains, they’re LT285/70/17 Don’t really need that beefy of a tire except maybe in winter but gonna be doing more highway driving for work and maybe wanted something for better gas mileage. Averaging 17 maybe 18 mpg now highway.

That's a beefy tire. Before you go down in size, check out the nitto terra grappler g2's in 285/70/17. Make sure they're the SL's. They're under 45lbs and their rolling resistance is excellent. That's what I'm running and I'm really happy with them. Ride great and really quiet too. Definitely worth a look.

Yeah it is and it’s honestly more than I need but it’s what came on the truck. Ok thanks I’ll look into them. Just want something more fuel efficient to help with gas mileage. Appreciate the input.

I was mostly just wondering if sizing down to recommend factory 265/65/17 would be best for optimal gas mileage instead of the taller tire

I just got back this evening from silver lake sand dunes in Michigan. It's a few hundred miles from me, basically across the state. I averaged 22.1mpg running the nittos coming home. 65mph. On the way out, and all day in the dunes in low range, it was 18.7. Climbed every friggin hill there. It's been 21-22mpg this summer, pretty happy with that.

Frick yeah, sounds like good tires to me. Ima definitely check em out. I need to get some off roading done in my trd sport. I mostly just haul bikes and kayaks and my camper. Not much for off roading in the middle of Iowa besides gravel roads.

Very low rolling resistance. I have a MT and I can be doing 55mph and put it in neutral, just coasting to a stop sign 1/2 mi away and I'll be hitting the brakes at 40mph at the stop sign. It coasts better than it did with the stock tires. If I lost 1/2mpg with these tires compared to stock, I'd be surprised.
