Well, they’re wrong. Stars lead the way are are supposed to be in the uppermost corner in the forward direction. So, passenger side they would be upper right. On the drivers side, upper left. Any surface not pointing forward the stars should be in the upper left when faced. Meaning, tailgate, back window, windshield, etc.

    Edit:

The fact your prior service and don’t know this makes my eye twitch...

Thank you. I was in the Army for seven years. I sure hope I know how to put a flag decal on my truck. But I am just a jackass because I support my country. But I fought for my country so stubborn people could have the right to call me a jackass.

Not true. Worn as it’s flown. Look at the US space shuttle for a good, full color large example.

And in those seven years, how was the flag on your right shoulder displayed? No one is saying you’re a jackass for supporting your country. Actively fighting displaying it properly is not supporting your country though. Forward facing is the key phrase here.

@4x4Runner isn't being stubborn, he was simply pointing out that it’s wrong. It’s military regulations and U.S. code that is “stubborn.”

So yes if it is on the passenger back window it would be displayed with the stars to the right. If it is on the driver side back window the stars to the left.

No, only on the side, back window is upper left.

    “Passenger” side.

United States Code Title 4 Chapter 1.

    §7 Display

    i. When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to the observer's left. When displayed in a window, the flag should be displayed in the same way, with the union or blue field to the left of the observer in the street.

Passenger back window is the damn window on the right side of the vehicle not the right side of the back window. Think passenger side windows if a passenger looks to their right to see fields of hay, or a car in the right lane. Not out the back window.

@Mrtoad25 your flag is wrong. No two ways about it.

You can argue it all day long but I recommend you look it up and not take the local VFW’s word for it.

    Just sayin

Thank you for your service, and trying to fly the flag the right way on your truck, AND staying cool when people started giving you shit about it, AND recognizing you were incorrect with the placement and then saying as much.
