‘99 Sea Ray 190. She’s a beast of a boat to tow @3000lbs but the taco does it.

Wheel twins! I'm eyeing a boat around that size but I've read that 3500# is the top end for towing with a 2nd Gen. Currently pulling a 900# 1975 Bowrider. I'm unsure of the trailer weight, but it's not too bad. Still, I'm thinking of upgrading my brakes to a Stoptec Tundra kit in anticipation of a larger boat down the line.

Sea Ray is apparently known for making solid (heavy) boats. With the trailer (not the right one as you can see by how long the neck is and the single axle) it’s somewhere around 4000lbs.. my guess is slightly over that.

It really doesn’t like the hills but can pull fine at 50mph in 4th. I wouldn’t expect the tranny to last as it’s pretty hard on it.

I did upgrade to Tundra callipers, heavy duty powerstop pads and hard brake lines which made a big difference but I had to get a replacement calliper as one of them came defective in the box. My brother has a 4th gen 4Runner and he also had the same calliper failure with powerstop twice so I don’t think I’ll stick with them.

Also I only tow it up to the cottage and a couple of short trip every summer. Otherwise the tranny would be cooked by now for sure. I don’t think I have a tow package on my truck (not sure if it was an option?) but I should prob get an aftermarket oil cooler

Closed on a house last year in June and just over the winter found a project boat. It’s going to be a while before it gets the major attention it needs but I’m happy to have a boat on the property. Should become a nice fishing machine for years to come!

So I had this Hobie Getaway from 2009-2018:

Sold the Getaway to buy this 1993 Four Winns Horizon 190

Collected a few kayaks and a SUP over the years:

Added this PWC to the fleet in 2020: 2019 Seadoo RXT 230

And most recently, just bought this 2016 Hobie Adventure Island:

    I may have a boat problem!:D

We've been looking at a Hobie sailing kayak to add to our Jackson kayaks.

I miss sailing since I sold my Laser a few years ago.

Oh, and there is no such thing as a boat problem! You can never have too many (of course, your wallet may disagree with that...)

We did…I drank beer and told the kid I’d give him $20 when the boat was wet.
