So I'm going to be picking up my truck next week. My question for those with car seats what are you using for seat covers of at all.

I would like to see a rear-faced Graco 4Ever installed in a doublecab Tacoma as well.

We bought a 4-ever for our 5 month old for the Venza. No way that thing is gonna fit rear facing in a taco. We have a chicco nextfit that will go rear facing behind the Tacoma pass seat for him once he’s out of the carrier. My wife thinks she’s keeping the second diono for her car once both boys are front facing....

I have the Greco 4Ever. Flipped it for a quick pic but I switched to forward for a few weeks now. It's snug on the sides but works, no trouble at all rear facing in the middle back seat.

Originally not Expo AF! Kinda Expo AF now...lame.
Speaking as a former 2nd and 3rd Gen owner, a current 4Runner owner, and a current F150 owner.

I can't recommend the Tacoma for kids and taller parents. The 4Runner is much better and the F150 is straight up unnecessarily large.

On long trips I love having the F150 for comfort as well. Parking sucks tho, bigger truck probs...

I’ve got the same one. No way I could have it behind me but it works well on the passenger side.

    CONGRATS!!!

You're going to have a lot of trouble finding a rear facing seat for an access cab that will fit comfortably for everyone. Definitely mount the car seat in the right rear.

When we were shopping for seats, we picked the most compact but safest (in our opinion) at the time. The Britax B-Safe was our choice. It fit really well in our 2002 Volkswagen GTI 3-door, 2004 Subaru Impreza 2.5TS 5-door, and our 2013 Subaru Impreza 2.0i 5-door. I know that seat has changed since then, so I don't know how compact it is.

The other thing is, we kept our kids in the infant seat as long as possible and went directly to a front facing harness/booster seat. Convertible seats are the biggest things in the world.

Ironically we just bought a convertible car seat for my sister in law who is due next month. That thing definitely won’t fit in the back lol. Luckily we do have a 2015 Subaru Legacy so we probably won’t have to use the truck too much for baby carrying. But I definitely want the option. Or I’ll trade in for a double cab.

This is such a helpful thread! Expecting a baby around the end of july. My 3rd gen 4runner will be the main baby rig but i will keep a click in baby seat in my tacoma. So far i am loving the Britax B-safe line. Any other helpful recommendations?
