Britax Marathon G4.1 Convertible Car Seat, Ultimate Comfort Series. I leave it in the truck, but it is easy to remove and reinstall when needed. I brought the seat to the car lot to put in the truck before I took it on my first test drive. Being able to comfortably put a child's seat was a must have for me.

The base style car seats are cake to install just prepare for it to leave indents in your seat. I’m not sure about your area but our local fire or police dept will either install for you or check your install for safety. It’s really just the the two latch straps clipped in down and back pressure and tighten. It’s much easier to do standing in the rear of the cab with the front seats all the way forward facing the rear of the truck. Make sure to check for proper level (our ketfit has a bubble level on the side)

I have the Britax B Safe 35 system. I put the base in the center since it fits better between the seats. Otherwise the passenger seat has to be all the way up. It's kind of a pain to put the carseat in and out of the cab since I am 5'7. It's a bummer there aren't latches in the center that the base can reach, so I use the seat belt option, which seems to secure it pretty tightly. There's enough room to sit two adults in the back as well. The double cab is very spacious, and this is the primary reason why I got one.

I have that book! It help that my wife is shorter. Couldn't fit a rear facing child seat with a 6 foot person in the seat in front.

I have the Diono Rainier car seat as well. Just picked up our truck and was surprised to find it does fit rear-facing! I do have to use the foam spacer, but I've used this on our previous vehicles too to make the seat fit more upright. Anyway, for those of you interested in seeing that this does fit rear-facing, thought these pics would help. My wife is 5' tall so she's fine, I fit too and I'm around 5'11", fwiw.

It is installed with the tether to the seat rail and we have the Diono seat protector as well. Good setup for sure! Will be even better when our 2 year old wants to switch to forward facing.

Picture books are a must have for my 21 month old. There is a stack of books on the other side of her seat. My wife is shorter as well, so she isn't bothered by the front seat position. I have an over 6 foot friend who says its a little tight sitting in the front passenger seat.

I’ve got a 1st response toddler booster seat for our 6 year old. I keep it in the middle seat for her. If I don’t, I get kicked constantly. It leaves her more room for those legs and feet. Her grandfather is a retired traffic safety police officer and is BIG on keeping them in the middle seat for safety reasons. Under the seat I have a seat protector I bought off Amazon. The wife’s Terrain has one for her leather seats too. Mine gets in the way of the buckle every time. I think even without the seat protector the middle seat is a bit too narrow for a seat but I’ll keep her as safe as I can and sacrifice comfort. Pics to follow.

Can anyone tell me if a smaller adult (wife is 5'6") would be able to sit in between two car seats? Imbconsidering a 2018 double cab but a little worried about the cabin space.

I've got the Keyfit 30 base in mine behind the passenger seat. After trying for a few hours to get it clicked in hard enough on my wife's Grand Cherokee in the middle via the belts I just went with the LATCH system on the side and felt much better about my installation. I never felt the belts gave a good, tight install. Maybe it was the shape of the seats on the GC and I could get the center on the Tacoma, but regardless I was good with my fit.

I have the Covercraft seat saver waterpoof covers on the back seats of both vehicles and am very happy with the results.
