I will post picture soon of set up. My trailer is 18ec forest river work and play. Its right at 5k dry. Packed its around 6500. I set cruise at 70 stays in 4th gear. Anytime I have a incline to climb I take cruise off and just keep the pedal steady. No real hurry to haul ass up a mountain.

Latest site was a small challenge - I managed to squeeze the camper in before realizing there was no way to get the truck back out. I had to push it up against the trees to keep it away from the fire ring.

Absolutely love it. It’s incredibly towable, light, and with a couple DIY mods, very versatile.

Currently posting from a friend’s yard in Florida - set up the trailer in their yard for several days to escape the winter doom and gloom of the northeast.

truck has Firestone air bags, Icon 3leaf progressive AAL, Bilstien 5100s, brake controller and anti sway hitch. Tows pretty well for a family of 3 plus a medium size dog.

Just picked up a used 2013 eclipse Milan lite 18ckg last weekend. Got a smoking deal for $5700 included a e2 weight distribution hitch rated for 8000lbs and a tekonsha primus iq brake controller. It’s basically new seeing that it was only used 6-8 times. I’m running a scanguage but I think I’m gonna get a bigger transmission cooler and some beefier leaf pack over my icon AAL

2021 Forest River No Boundaries 19.8NB.

    It's about 3789# dry. 4800# loaded.

This is the first trip towing with the Tacoma. I upgraded the trans cooler to a Hayden 679 and added some basic clip on towing mirrors.

I've done about 5 other tow trips with my full sized 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE with the 5.3L LM7 V8 and 4L60e transmission.

I feel the Tacoma pulls better regarding power than the GMC. Stops better too. The GMC is much more stable since of its width and 10 ply Load E tires.

Biggest thing I miss are the dedicated tow mirrors on the GMC and the massive bed I can fill.

Nice trailer! Love the NoBo line.

Did you replace the factory trans cooler or add the Hayden as a secondary one? How are your temps pulling up hill now?

I did a lot of TW Forum research and decided just to replace the stock trans cooler with the Hayden 679.

I saw about a 70*F decrease in trans temp day to day driving pretty much maintaining a 140*F temp on my commute or around town.

On this trip to Anza from SD, we went up some steep grades through Lambs Canyon and on S22 into Borrego Springs and never saw trans temps higher than 210*F. Engine stayed around 204*F. Ambient temp was 87*F. Truck bed was full of misc camping gear, just me and my wife in the cab.

When we used time tent camp, the same grades I would see 242*F just with the stock trans cooler, no trailer en tow. I knew a trans cooler upgrade was necessary.

    Hello Everyone,

I hope this message finds the forum well tonight. I'm new to the Tacoma World forum and look forward to chatting with everyone. I purchased a leftover 2019 Tacoma pro last fall (Portsmouth NH Toyota) and have thoroughly enjoyed my time thus far with the Tacoma (lots of fun). In preparation for some yard work this spring, and equipment transportation needs, I purchased a Cam Superline dump trailer (with built-in pull-out ramps!). Specifically, I was thinking about mulch (5 yds per load), moving the zero-turn mower (~1200lbs), yard debris, small loads of dirt (2 yds. per load) and finally a Kubota LC2610 (~2300lbs with loader).

The trailer is a P5CAM612LPD (not the HD version). Weight is ~2800lbs. I needed the 12’ trailer to have enough room for the Kubota LX2610 and loader. The 10’ P5CAM10LDP (~200lbs lighter – 10’ trailer) was just too short for the Kubota. I don’t plan to travel on highways often with most of my weekend endeavors being to landscaping supply places, MB Tractor in Plaistow NH and the dump (yard debris, etc.).

    Notes:
The trailer dealer was recommending Timbrens to replace the OEM suspension stops.

    1. Question: Is this a good idea?
    2. Break controller being added this week at the dealer. The trailer has electric breaks. I transported the trailer home Friday without breaks and no issues.
    3. Do you see the P5CAM612LPD as a problem for my Tacoma pro?
I know many on this forum have a lot of experience with Tacoma trucks and heavy trailer loads. I find a mix of Tacoma tow capacities online listing 6400lbs, 6600lbs and 6800lbs. Based on my expected usage, the largest trailer load is ~5200lbs. Please let me know the forums thoughts. This is my first trailer and hope that I made a good choice based on my expected usage.

    Thanks
    Cary
