    The panel I’ve been working on is finished and installed. I cut the panel out of 16G steel then milled out the necessary holes and openings and bent it 90 degrees. Currently it supports a light bar on my roof rack and some scene lights. The bar isn’t able to be used yet because my switch has yet to arrive. Scene lights are tied to the cargo light switch. I also plan to add a circuit for bed lights and possibly a 12v circuit in the bed.

    Just this morning seeing this post. There are two main benefits, if there's a short you just find it, fix it, and reset the breaker, instead of having to buy a new fuse. The other is it acts as a switch so you can de-energize the panel.

    Panel is from Paranoid... Don't think there is another one out there for the 1st gen. I still need to assemble everything (have all the parts, just need to find the time to do it) but here is a shot of the panel in the engine bay. From the bottom, there is enough space. We'll see.

    I have a general question for anyone with knowledge...

    For the above, so far I have a 6 circuit Blue Sea with an 80 amp breaker the bracket is from Overland Equip. I have "minor" accessories planned. My ARB 40 amp dual compressor, I'm assuming, should be wired direct to the battery because it exceeds the 30 amp limit. Honestly, I doubt I'll get up to 40 amps total with all my planned accessories.

    I've been looking at the Blue Sea Low Voltage Disconnect from here. Does anyone see a problem installing this before the breaker? Thanks...

    Thanks. I didn’t like the idea of the panel always being hot and draining my battery. The low voltage disconnect will be perfect for shutting down the fuse panel. The one thing about the disconnect is that it has a continuous rating of 65 amps. For those with more accessories, they may want two disconnects with the Blue Sea Split Panel to "spread the load". :thumbsup:

    Yes, polarity isn't important on relays, only getting the coil connections and high current connections to the right components.
    Switch is 85/86
    Accessory 30/85
    And you have those correct.
    maybe angle the plus cable away from the engine block a little(more toward the grill).

    Powering mine with my solar setup. Only using it for some 12v ports at the moment. I run my dometic, a charger for my macbook, and a phone/ipad charger off the ports now.

    I haven't decided yet. The LVD unit itself will be flush mounted on the aux fuse bracket next to the breaker, while the switch can be mounted inside the cab or inside the engine bay. I don't have any extra slots ATM inside the cab, so my current plan is to mount the switch in the engine bay below the 6 blade aux fuse panel.
