    I've ordered these: http://www.carid.com/2006-toyota-ta...fl-halo-led-projector-headlights-3696325.html

I'm deciding on which tail lights would go best with them, pretty sure i'm going with the Spyder® - Black LED Tail Lights

This is a good selection on this site: http://www.carid.com/2006-toyota-tacoma-taillights/

I checked e-bay too and they just have those generic LED ones, they will be more expensive from this site but quality is key

You could always put a layer of Plasti Dip on them instead of buying a whole new set of lights, light covers etc. Plus if you don't like it after, you can peel it off and you didn't spend a lot of money. Or if you get pulled over by Police.

Try the Rustoleum Lens Tint Spray...it worked great for me, you can control the shade, and its cheap($12)!

I put a mild tint on my tails using VHT Nite Shades.

    It's a matte finish which I like...

I guess it cool to not let the guy behind you know when you step on the brakes. What next, driving at night with your headlights off???

Pull your pants up, clean those tail light lenses, and act like a man.

OK, I'll admit I'm old school. Someone please educate me. How does it work? I just can't understand how darkening the lens still lets the same amount of light through.

I just like how it looks on my black taco  I agree, it would be mildly insane to limit the actual function of something, especially your lights.

I guess it depends on how dark you go. But mine seem to shine like stock, and they're pretty blacked out.

So you're telling us that if I wear my sunglasses at night while I am driving, I can see the same as I would wearing regular glasses? Wow! That's amazing! You know, since clear gives out the same amount of light as the color black.

I've got mine tinted with 3 light coats of Nightshade. I've had my cousin who is a Police Officer look at them, both at night, and during the day, and they are legal.

It's not like using the tinted light covers... where you see next to no light output...

    Running lights....

    Brakes applied....

I used a very long and tedious process.

I first wet sanded the stock lenses with 800, 1000, and 2000 grit, to promote good adhesion.

Then I coated them with 3 coats of the Night shades.

Then, I applied 7 coats of Krylon Acrylic Crystal Clear coat paint.

    Then wet sanded them again...

Then polished with Turtle Wax Rubbing compound...

Then polished with Meguiars PlastX. :)

I opted to tint mine, as I didn't like the pink tinge the stock lenses have... wasn't a big fan of the newer style OEM LED lights, and didn't want to buy the ones from E-bay....

It's a translucent finish. It diminishes the light output slightly, but unless you use several coats your tail lights will meet DOT minimum requirements (visible from 500 ft). That's not to say that they will be legal in the state that you live in. Arkansas is pretty lenient and doesn't go above the DOT minimum. Mine are legal, verified by several LEOs.

Yes it's their fault, you only need on brake light that works, now the person with the smoked tail lights could also be sighted, but in the end its your fault for following to close and not Leving an assured clear distance... It sucks, but that's how it works..

I can agree with this as it happened when i was 16... i rear ended a Camery with my 95 toyota truck (minimal damage to my truck at 55mph) put her trunk in her backseat... she didnt have any brake lights at all.. all were burned out and she admitted to it.. but i still got the ticket for the accident for following too close to realize that she was slowing down...
