Looks great. Especially the dog. That's pretty much the same setup I'm looking for with the vented windoors at least on one side. Does leer have the option for a single latch to open the rear?

Unfortunately no - I asked the same question when I ordered it. The multiple handles/keys is definitely a downside, but for me wasn’t a dealbreaker.

On the rear window, I have two Leer shells, one on my '02 Tundra which is ancient and one on my '16 Tacoma which is modern, about a year old. The new one has a center latch, old one has T handles.

I like them both. The thing with the center latch, it's one hole through the glass so you do not need to be sly stallone arm wrestler to open a locked rear glass, just twist and it moves, unless you tighten the locknut to the point where you shatter the glass. Meanwhile the T handles are annoying but _slightly_ more secure, you can still take a plumbers wrench and snap the lock nub, assuming that breaks before the entire handle sheers off.

Granted, you can also just smash the glass so security is all a matter of the range between pathetic to terrible but, I do think the center knob is significantly less secure than the T handles for the tempted casual would-be thief who only goes for unlocked doors and super stealth quick grabs.

For me, it's actually a bit annoying, the transfer station guys inspect all loads so when I pull up in the '16 they force it open without thinking (I have auto lock so when I'm in the truck idling it's locked) and then I have to adjust, it's pretty mangled at this point.

Not even sure I know where the key is, though, so yeah, I'm almost at the point of leaving it permanently unlocked.

While not available on your model, leer definitely does offer the center handle on some.

Hey yall, so a few weeks ago I broke the sliding window on my Leer. I got the shell used, so I don't know the model, so if any of you can ID it, that would be awesome!

The dealership I have gone to has been horrible about getting back to me, even with a quote for parts/labor. I was told 24 hours, and almost 5 weeks later, I still don't have a quote from them. Is there any way I can order the window from leer themselves and just do the install myself?

Ps. They shop told me I'd have to replace the whole window, so if so, I'd like to spend a bit more and get a windoor.

Thanks in advance for the help!

To me it looks like 100R or 100XR. I’d try to find a different dealer to go through. The windoor is for sure the way to go, I love mine

I have a Leer 100xr with single center latch with remote access tied into my Toyota fob. It was an option. When I purchased it was buy one get two free. I paid for the carpet liner and got the auto lock and roof rack tracks for free.

Yes, I haven't gotten a response back from leer though, and I've tried twice.

I know, I'm a bit bummed. I love my shell, and it's 100% the most useful thing I've bought for my truck so far, but I just wish I could fix it lol.

Did you try a glass shop?

They may be able to cut a piece for you.

It's not a windoor (which are great, btw) but it would get your shell back in order.

This might be the plan of action if I can't get a quote, but I'm really hoping to wait it out for a windoor. We'll see.

the previous owner of my shell had the same window bust out. he replaced it with a piece of tinted plexi.it still closed and locked and looked the same as the window.

i bought the shell from a place that buys/sells used shells, so he noticed the plexi and replaced the entire window assembly when i bought it.

i cant tell from your pic of the shortbed shell, but for mine, it was called something like a standard 15 degree window (the angles on the front and back of the wondow). same window for leer and snugtop.

i think the windoors are more rectangular in shape? so they wont fit as a direct replacement for the hole in your shell?

That's really good to know. I did see that the windoors were a bit different in shape, but I figured that was just a different model of shell. Guess I was wrong. Hopefully I might be able to get the 15 degree window then! Thanks.

I believe they’re all the same shape. I was debating on getting windoors or not and the sales lady told me it could be added later if I decided down the road to get them.

I was also told the same thing. The ARE person I spoke with said the only windows that are different sizes are ones with inner toolboxes.

    Sadly, not much.
Snugtop Rebel! Got second hand and added frontrunner cab rack and load bars. I also ordered a windoor from the dealer and will have installed in a few weeks. IMG_2203.jpgIMG_2162.jpg
