Hi all. I'm having a rough country 3in front 2in rear lift/level kit installed soon. Stock front shocks and the extended RC rear shocks. I don't get offroad too much, and when I do I usually just skirt corners on relatively smooth jeep roads... only bottomed out once. Should I take it easy in the future for my shocks sake or what can I do to lower the bump stops? I don't want to hear your bs about how I should have bought a coilover kit or whatever....I'm in high school and not rich.
    Thanks

The spacers will give a harsher ride offroad. Also the rough street ride (potholes and such) will be harsher. Otherwise you'll be fine until you realize you want a real/good upgrade.

Why do you think they will snap? If the manufacturer designed them for your truck for a spacer lift they'll be fine. You will just be moving the stock front shocks down so they'll be fine.

Because I read threads here with people saying bottoming out with a spacer lift can snap a shock... I just don't know how much it takes and I want to continue offroading without risking my taco. Anyone thrash their spacer lift around with no problems?

People were saying the front stock shocks will snap... could have just been spacer lift haters.

    yep..
I've seen photos of this happening. I think if the spacer sits on the coil, preloading it, you re fine. But if it's a top plate spacer, you may run into issues if you beat on it .

A spacer lift will do this to your truck.

Here is another example. I could just add 2" spacer to the Mitsu and be ready to go. Or I can add something like this and know I did something correctly to my ride.

You said you don't go offroad much. When you do don't think you have long travel and try to do what you see on the internet/TV. If you want to really offroad get a real suspension designed for it. It takes a lot of force, I.e. Huck in your truck over a dune, slamming up/down rocks, hitting trails at high speeds, jumping curbs.
