King offers a short version of their 2.5x14” smooth body shock. I haven’t been able to find this from any other company. Has anyone else seen other companies offer it?

Standard king 2.5x14” shocks have the following measurements:
    Compressed: 23.25”
    Extended: 37.25”

Short king 14” shocks have the following measurements:
    Compressed: 21.75”
    Extended: 35.75”

    Thanks for any input

@AccuTune Offroad can probably get that for you. It will have a welded rod end and shorter internals.

Note that 14's are only useful for spring under applications.

265C9AD1-3964-4661-8D42-EBBF52E46286.jpg This chart is from filthy motorsports. King already makes the short body shocks with the standard top cap and rod end, I am just curious if other companies do as well.

I don’t see a down side for this for a SOA application. Using King shocks as an example, the compressed length of the short 2.5x14” shock (21.75”) is only 1.1” longer than the 2.5x12” shock (20.65”), and 2.17” longer than the commonly used 2.0x12” shock (19.685”). The towers I will be using will be a couple inches taller than most under bed relocations like the BAMF kit, so that will result in a 2.5x14” shock bottoming out at roughly the same spot as a 2.0x12” using other towers, while keeping the axle mounts in the same place people usually put them. I would rather my springs be the limiting factor in travel than the shock. A 14” shock would be getting every last bit of travel out of my springs, without ever over extending.

    Do it.

One of my regrets on my rear end is getting 12s with a welded rod eye.....should have got 14s with a welded rod eye. Even with custom hoops and hangers/shackles you probably won't be able to use all 14" but I'd bet you could use over 13". (assuming you set your bump to stop your leaf packs close to flat)

Right now I’ve got wheelers super bumps with the u-bolt flip, so depending on how it all plays out, I might even be able to shave some height of the bump stops to allow more uptravel than I’ve got, while adding 14s. I would prefer to get short body shocks with standard rod ends than a full body with welded rod ends for the ability to change them out and mount a shaft guard

To bring it back to my original question, has anyone seen a company other than king that offers this?

Yes, Filthy took the time to put in on their site, but @AccuTune Offroad can get them too (and offers free custom tuning).

Regarding 12's vs 14's, with the ICON RXT pack, 285's, and Archive Garage Hammer Hangers you'll get maaayyybeee 12.5" of travel in my experience.

To take advantage of a 14 you really need to be spring under, do more serious cutting, or get a custom/softer leaf pack made.

Right, Accutune is the other company I am considering going through, I was just trying to figure out if say ADS or fox offer something like that.

I know I won’t get 14” of travel out of my springs. I am doing the archive garage relocation and hammer hangers, so 14s would leave me the opportunity to get more travel by getting a custom pack later down the road. I know I won’t be using the shocks to their full ability, but I don’t see a reason to go with 12s other than cost, which Id rather pony up a couple hundred extra bucks, and not end up buying different length shocks again in a couple years

Fox can also make shorter shocks.

The only other reasons to go with a 12" travel is ground clearance and durability. The 12's are still 1" shorter giving you 1" more ground clearance, and using a smaller internal spacer to reduce shock length increases the likelihood of bending the shaft if they ever bind up.

Chevy 63s will get you most if not all of that travel. That's what I'm running with my 14" Kings
